The truth is, it doesn't matter what people in Alberta think about the Liberals. They have no chance in Alberta anyway. It's about Quebec and Ontario. It's incredibly obvious, but so many people miss it on this board. They're busy screaming (not necessarily in this thread) "unelectable cause of daddy's NEP"...well nobody in the east gives a flying fata about the NEP, and those that do were never going to vote Liberal in their entire lives anyway.

The ad is good. But let`s be honest here: his lisp is totally annoying.

Yes they have... it took them a bit of time to get rid of the surplus that the Liberals left them. Not sure if a Harper majority government has ever had one though.

I think it's crazy that they're pushing the GST cut as an accomplishment though, since Stephen Harper was about the only economist in the country who thought that was a good idea.

I hope the facts are wrong on that mailout. If it's confirmed that that comes out paid for by our tax dollars I'll be chewing my local MP's ear off.

You want to run attack ads, spend your own money not mine.

I think Trudeau is making a huge mistake. Ignatieff went negative way too late, whereas the Conservative attack machine hit hard and hit often, to an absolutely devastating effect. The public SAY they don't like the mudslinging, and then go and vote for the party that does it the most.

Except this is the third time through for the CPC, voters won't be as tolerant of it. They also had a majority finally, and accomplished more or less nothing with it. I really don't think they'll get another majority, and without a majority its just a matter of time before they get brought down, likely when the Liberals have enough support to win.

Trudeau is smart to be passive now, still way too long out. You can still hit them closer to election time when it will matter more.

I've grown tired of the Conservatives, their record over the last couple of years has been embarrassing. They've done more harm then good when it comes to the Oilsands, Keystone XL, and Northern Gateway. Rather than demonstrate good environmental oversight they've given the public the idea that we've got something to hide. Keeping Rob Sleepy Car Crash Anders around and mailing out tacky fliers assembled by a team of 15 year olds just adds to the disgust.

I don't care much for Trudeau, but if the Conservatives lost it would be better him than Mulcair.

I think he's playing it okay for now, but fully expect the Conservatives to keep this up nonstop for the next two years and just wear everybody.

Right play in avoiding the attack ads, which are frankly about as unCanadian as it gets.

I still have a hard time getting over his knobbishness though, and it comes through in this ad in spite of everything.

Try living in Rob Anders ward where we get a bi-monthly 10 page propaganda novel mailed out us. I picked up dog crap with it once. It was great.

Justine took the high road?

No surprise since his mama was a pothead and took the high road daily...

Stephen Harper is not an economist. He has a Masters (not a PhD) in Economics from a 2nd rate school and has never published anything.

Is the Trudeau ad going to get any air time or just be released online?

If it is just online then it is only playing to existing supporters so an attack ad doesn't make sense.

The other issue that is being overlooked is that the ads are an attempt to define Justin. The Conservatives are going negative to paint him in a negative light. The only response from the Trudeau camp is to go positive to paint him in a positive light. The Liberals can't define Harper to the public because he is already defined.

I don't think we're going to see much of either the CPC or Liberal ads here in Alberta. The Liberals know they have no prayer here, the CPC knows they're pretty safe here, so I'm sure both figure why waste the money?

The Conservative attack ads against Ignatieff were both brilliant and devastating.

I've only seen the attack ad on Justin Trudeau once but it seemed childish and mean. It could backfire on them. They probably needed to start a little softer and build from there. Trudeau is, after all, a big fat, easy target and he isn't going anywhere.

Great, now explain why you feminized his name.
