Apparentely he has not lived in this home for too long so he has no ties to it. Iginla never lived here in the off-season anyway.
This was just his home for the regular season.

An NHL player is quite different then "75% of the working population". First off most people don't make over 100K a year let alone 5million +. Money like that makes it real easy to move and drop a mortgage. secondly how many people have 20+ organizations interested in hiring you all the time. 75% of the working population stay put because they NEED the next paycheck and they don't have offers falling from the trees.

Iginla had his choice several times to go elsewhere for the same or MORE money.

As opposed to living in a house that's usually several hundred percent of an annual salary?

Its still listed on the system as being Active.
New rules allow you to keep the listing active through the condition period until its a firm sale.

Its quite possible its been conditionally sold, but SOLD price info is not reported to the Real Estate Board until its a firm sale.

If it sold that fast, it is likely a full price sale.

I am surprised it didnt sell for above list in a bidding war. At the end of the day I am sure Iggy would rather wipe his hands clean right away than stick it out for an additional 100k/run the risk it loses its hot new listing stigma and has to drop the price.

I heard Iginla sold his house in St Albert as well. We were wondering if there may be tax implications to working in the US and owning foreign property. This might have more to do with US tax law than Iginla's desire to play somewhere after his time with Pittsburg.
