If Rob Anders sends me one of those I'll check Liberal and send it back just to spite him (along with a note expressing my displeasure about using taxpayer dollars for that).

I've previously complained to my MP about these mail outs. The last one use the phrase "Conservative Government" about 30 times. But this new one if true is pure propaganda

It doesn't do any good. I've argued with my MP 4 or 5 times about these, they insist that they are an important tool to let the people know what the government is doing for them. What a load of crap. My last email to him stated where he could shove his tax paid propaganda.

I hate how little the Liberals defend their economic credentials, given that it took the threat of a non-confidence vote for the Conservatives to implement any kind of stimulus program (which those same Conservatives are now touting as proof that only they can manage the economy well).

I tend to agree. In Canadian politics, the bigger bully usually wins. The smarmier and dooshier you are, the better chance you have of winning. Maybe it's due to change soon, but I doubt it.

Stephane Dion was probably the best leader the Liberals could table after Martin, and he was destroyed by attack ads. I expect the same thing to happen to Trudeau eventually who is a pretty easy target.

Attack ads are so bush league. The sooner these become obsolete and parties/candidates focus more on why their ideas are better than the rest, rather than make the rest look bad while you're the only good one, the better.

I think it is pretty funny that the mail-out lists balancing the budget by 2015 as an example of Harper's experience. Something that hasn't happened yet. Which begs the question: has a Harper government ever had a balanced budget or a surplus?

I believe they did when they were in a minority position.

And I personally believe that the effectiveness of them has about run their course. Just about anyone I know is totally fed up with attack ads as well as robocalls.

I don't know how effectively my concerns will be dealt with but I sent e-mails off to both my MP as well as PM Harper and told both of them that if the referenced ad above actually does go to air or get in my post box, then count me as someone who is totally disgusted.

I like it and I hope it works, but people are generally stupid, and that's why attack ads work.

I'd like to think that Trudeau will at some point be interested in talking about something real instead of himself, but I have a feeling this election will come down to Harper talking about how inexperienced Trudeau is, and Trudeau talking about hope and change and nothing real.

Fanboys on both sides will argue for 3000 pages about this insignificant point or that irrelevant policy, but in the end it will all come down to whether or not Trudeau is a sexy enough horse to win.

I do think he'll win, though. The east will eat him up.
