A couple of close calls on both sides to start the OT. Hitmen win it less than 2 minutes in.
Hitmen take the series lead 1-0.

That was a great OT, so much action in the first few minutes there, either team could have won it that's for sure. Huge win by the Hitmen to get home ice advantage. I'll be back in Calgary and at game 4 on Wednesday, can't wait!

An ugly game by both teams. Not the caliber of hockey I expected but anticipate things will pick up starting tomorrow night. Its great to win the ugly games.

Home ice advantage back to Calgary.
Good for the Hitmen, nice to see. Kamloops-Calgary final

Not totally unexpected with both teams having a week off. Tonights game should be much better!

A little less so, but the OKs were dominant. Shots were almost 2-1 and that was representative of the play. The Hitmen were great at getting sticks and bodies in front of shots and probably deflected easily 10-12 that could have been scoring opportunities. There were entire shifts in Calgary end where the OKs cycled around the boards, totally controlling the play.
Broissoit really let us down on the first goal, which a good midget AAA goalie should have had. It deflated the team and took them two periods to recover. OKs in six, could go seven. The best team usually wins, and the OKs are the best team. My offer of an avatar bet still stands.

Again, appreciate the avatar bet offer but not a Hitmen fan so don't care enough about the series to bet.
Edmonton certainly won't go away, that's a good team and they'll win their share in this series, but Calgary can play a lot better than they did and will get more than 17 shots most games.
Won't be easy for either side.

Edmonton was the better team tonight but that was the worst officiated games I've seen. This league just can't find decent refs.

You are not kidding!!! Powerplays 14-4 in favor of the Oil Kings and the Hitmen were down by two men 5 times in the game.

Deserved them. They were gooning it up. If you guys like violence, take in the next two games. Blood could be running.

Sorry but about half of the penalties were not penalties. Those slashing calls in particular occur by both teams about 100 times a game but yet only the Hitmen were called for it. I am a Hitmen fan but when media people from all over the place comment on how bad the refs were, it says something. I'd be more concerned if I was an Oil King fan, that game shouldn't have even been close through 40 minutes.

That would suggest both teams were playing vigilante hockey....when the PP count is 14-4 (an absurd discrepancy) it suggests that no, it wasnt deserved but glaringly a byproduct of an set of officials that were out of control.

Un-huh. And the Oil Kings are innocent little fluffy bunnies?
Officiating like that is an embarrassment to the sport.

Calgary-Edmonton is shaping up nicely.
Hope Kamloops can take game 3 at home and make a series out of it. Also, Pointless wishful thinking.... watching Rattie makes me wish we could have got him in the Bouw return.

would've been even more impressive if they'd changed the Cs in the red line into the Hitmen logo.
