He's got nothing to prove. He's been one of our best players since the deadline and has a top two line centre role locked up for next season.

Let's see what these other guys are made of.

Nope, this is a full tank job. Feaster did his best to ice the worst line-up he could and he did but they still won games. He knows how important it is to lose this game, it's pretty damn obvious. But knowing us, we'll likely win this game.

Which is again pretty much whatever you want. Very likely about what we would see tonight. I don't care enough to do the math nor is it really even remotely relevant to the game thread anymore so I'll let this conversation die. I guess I just don't understand why you are so upset by this since we obviously have different views on what these final few games mean for the team going forward.

As for the other "questionable" injuries, they've all sat out of a long period of time with a couple of them hitting IR when the Predators were still 2-3 points out of a playoff spot:

Bourque (out since Apr 1st)
Gaustad (out since Apr 4th)
Hornqvist (out since Apr 14th)

There's really no comparison between the Predators' situation and the Flames healthy scratching 4 of their 5 highest remaining scorers.
Maybe not but the fact the team had all those injuries didn't stop them from trading their best forward at the deadline tells me they didn't intend to help the team finish the stretch much like how Maurice said with Carolina that Rutherford turned down his requests for help the year they tanked to draft Eric Staal.

Erat requested a trade, so not sure what your point is on that.

Obviously Poile took a realistic view of his team and realized that with all of their injuries they didn't have a hope of competing so he wasn't a buyer. That doesn't mean their players aren't legitimately injured.

Seeing how the flames have stooped this low, it shows that they really want to draft a specific player. I wonder who.

Given the player they got back in Forsberg its hard to fault them for taking that deal, regardless of there playoff aspirations.Unless Forsberg has a major fault that is just starting to be exposed, that was a major win for the Preds.

On a somewhat related note, Mark Gandler says Ramo wants to come over next year:

I'm not convinced he's going to be a great player myself as he's obviously got warts that caused 7 teams to pass on him (projected 3rd) to where the Capitals picked him then for the Capitals to let him go a year later. I think this is the case of the name carrying more weight than the player.

Flames Salary cap hit for tonight's game:
Forwards: $15,422,080
Defense: $9,625,554

Actual Salary paid for season:
Forwards: $11,585,000
Defense: $8,875,000

Only one forward in the lineup paid more than $1 million this season.

If Macdonald and Irving were the two dressed goalies for tonight, the entire dressed roster would have a cap hit of $26 million, including nearly $3 million in bonuses to Cervenka that he won't get.

I don't necessarily disagree with you at all. I'm not a big Forsberg fan and there are a couple big red flags on him in the last year. That said, most of the hockey world seemed to think this was a slam dunk for the Preds.

This is the only game this year I will be leaning towards cheering for a loss. Need a lot to go right today for the flames to aid locking down one of the top seven picks.

If I was Feaster I would go into the locker room and say the top three minuses in the game get a NTC

Law of averages. We will lose 3-1.

Huh? Begin supposedly isn't playing.

Reinhart, Horak, Cervenka, Street and Jones have all played centre this year.
Byron has played centre in pro. Hudler was drafted as a centre. Hanowski has played centre in college.

Plenty of options at centre tonight.

How exactly is Stajan a +7 on this team with a -26 goal differential?

Stajan is using the dark arts.

Begin has an "upper body" injury:

Renaud Lavoie@RenLavoieRDS45m

Steve Bégin (upper body) will miss tonight game vs Predators. #flames #RDS

The Flames confidence is sky high right now. I think the kids win this one no problem.

Bancks with a fight and 46 hits.
