Umm, that's the regular jambox, undercoverbrother. As cool as it looks it's not the Big Jambox, which according to one very persuasive review on the Internet, is the last speaker I'll ever need to buy.

I assumed it was male, if it was female the chain would have been pearls, no?

Is yours the regular Jambox or the Big Jambox? Apparently there is a dramatic difference.

I have the samll Jambox and while the sounds isn't amazing, it is a great device. Good for on the boat or camping as others have suggested. Bose now makes a bluetooth speaker as well. Probably costs twice as much though.

So the Big Jambox arrived today. I'm not really sure how to go about reviewing something like this, but here goes.
First of all, for reference, I have at my house a $100 (bought it for $50 when Blockbuster was going belly up) Sony iPod docking station. The sound quality is acceptable for a basement bathroom. I also have a BOSE docking station speaker that is way better than the Sony. I love the sound out of it. We have it in our kitchen and it gets used pretty much all day every day.
Anyway, the above may be useful if you're trying to establish my experience with these small speakers.
This Big Jambox is going to go in my bedroom. It sounds fan-fataing-tastic. Seriously, it's mind blowing. It's so loud and crisp. Connecting to my phone took about 10 seconds (pretty standard for Bluetooth), and the Liveaudio feature that uses BACCH 3D sound is really cool. Sounds like a gimmick, but I think it's legit. Here's what that is:
Quote:
BACCH™ 3D Sound technology is a groundbreaking innovation that makes the experience of life-like 3D audio from a loudspeaker a reality. Developed by Professor Edgar Choueiri in his 3D3A lab at Princeton University, BACCH™ powers Jawbone's LiveAudio™ listening experience for JAMBOX, the world's first commercially available loudspeaker to feature 3D audio.

It really sounds like music is coming from all over the place and not just one little speaker.
Straight up, I'd tell you guys if it sucked. It would have been funny if I blew $300 on this while drunk and it sounded crappy. Lucky for me, it doesn't. I would take this over my BOSE any day of the week.
5/5 (based on my initial experience...review is subject to change as I live with this for a while)

Okay, now it's at home and in the kitchen (my wife moved the BOSE to our room). In my office, which is about the size of a large walk-in closet, it sounded so incredible. In our kitchen, which is a good size, it doesn't sound as intense. I'm revising my review down to a 3.9/5 based on this. If you have it in a smaller room like an office or bedroom it would sound better.
I'm still very happy with it, but figured a modified review was warranted.

I have this one..

Bluetooth speakers are great for when you have people over.
I have RDIO on my Ipad and when people are over we just take turns cranking out music through this thing.
THe Jambox looks cool... not sure what has better sound, but I love my Bose.
