Jeeze that is as close to throwing a game as you get. Is hudler the only forward with more then, say 100, NHL games played?
Might as well not dress the coach either.

I know these guys have been getting results lately, but have we ever iced a worse line up than this?

How is that a lineup that can win an NHL game?
If Nashville loses, they should be forced to forfeit their first round pick.

Sweet mother of God. If the Flames win with that lineup someone needs to fine the Preds some draft picks for tanking.

Out of curiosity, what is the leagues stance on intentional tanking? In would think it undermines the overall product the NHL is selling. If a case could be legitimately proven that a team was trying to lose what would the leagues stance be on this?
I suppose you could say that not trying to win is different then trying to lose...but you know what I'm getting at here. Even having a team perceived to be throwing a game is a very bad thing for the league as a whole.
I'd also add, in typical Flames form, this is too little, too late.

Well, looks like Reinhart has developed nicely into our first line centre. Damn that was quick.
In all honesty, if they win tonight and some of you complain about "not tanking" I'm going to have an aneurysm. This is exactly what you do to lose on purpose, there's not much else the Flames can do to lose tonight.

Regarding tanking.... exactly why it would be great to see further overhaul of the seeding process.
How precisely.... no idea!

There is no correlation with the Oilers and their futility. They are the extreme and not the norm. There is a reason even well run franchises like the Devils, Hurricanes, and Predators are tanking. It's akin to folding a bad hand in a game of poker. Playing a bad hand to the end results in losing.

Bah, you're right, but what the hell? Let's do it the hard way. Win the next 3 games. Have a .500 season and let that be the worst year.
Draft a good player 7th to 11th overall. Maybe win the lottery (no party).
Draft two more good young players in round 1 this year and let them develop. Let's see what the offseason brings. We have cap space and can use it any number of ways.
Meanwhile, I would love to see Backlund and Baertschi get 5 or 6 points each this week and play well 5-on-5. I would like to see Brodie be +4 this week. Reinhart keep playing hard and get rewarded. Let's see Cundari hit play well.
Maybe Kipper has another great game or two and decides to stick around for 1 more year, while our goalie prospects sort themselves out.
Maybe Kate Upton becomes a Flames superfan and asks me if she can come over to my place and watch the games from now on.
All of the above is entirely plausible, no?
[Edit: Huh, Backlund isn't playing? Screw it. Let's tank. Kate can come over to my place and cheer for Nashville.]

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg 26m So looks like Stempniak, Cammalleri, Backlund, Jackman, and Stajan will all sit this one out. #Flames
We really don't want this win tonight.

I don't know if any team ever has iced a forward lineup that bad in a regular season game.
Remove Hudler, and the other 11 forwards have 91 career points COMBINED.

Anton, The will net himself 6 or 7 goals and at least double that in assists and then calmly walk out of the dressing room saying "I AM ANTON <comma> THE".

981 total NHL games played for the entire forward lineup tonight, and Hudler accounts for 449 of those.
