I was happy for him, because he needed to be someplace else other than here, and its good to see him have a chance at a Cup. I'm not sitting around hoping he fails.

I was happy for the team when he left because he really needed to be out of the way in Calgary. There's already a different energy and dynamic developing, even if some dark days probably have to be endured next year. Its an organization starting to look forward instead of behind.

And I haven't missed him at all.

Everyone's happy in that world. Its been a good thing.

The Iginlas clearly had some great taste. Not always the case with hockey players.

I have ridden past that place a hundred times at least over the last few years, and always thought nice house... but too square.

Never dawned on me it was Jarmoe Ignila's house.

A friend who was working on that house a few years ago give me an unofficial tour as it was nearing completion. /coolstorybro

Also, the artwork on the kids' walls was done by local artist David Brunning aka The Kid Belo.

That house is only worth 45 games to Iginla. Might want to step up if he comes back to Calgary. I believe Bearspaw was mentioned.

Thats Ironic, because it takes about 45 Games into the Year for Iginla to finally 'show up' and contribute.

The way the young guys have been playing soothes the hurt.

I was thinking that if he won the cup this year there would be a strong chance he might come back, I mean, gets it done the first year right? But that is against the odds, even if Pitts is the best team going in, and yes him selling his house pretty much gets rid of that idea.

Always thought he'd keep a house here though, or does he still have one in and around Edmonton?

To be honest, I never got the feeling that Jarome really considered Calgary home per se. He always dropped the status quo compliments to the city, but it always felt like he was only here, because he was employed here, not because he truly wanted to be.

Someone who "doesn't truly want to be somewhere" doesn't stay there for more then a decade.

I am not saying he didn't have a commitment to the team, but I have never once heard Jarome say he loves 'the city' of Calgary. It was always, 'I love the fans' 'I love the organization'. It doesn't make me like the guy any less, but I guarantee you he will not be like a big chunk of our alumni, who adopted the City as home after retirement.
