With the show of the young guys during this last stretch, if our upcoming top 5-6 pick in the 1st round and Jonny Gadreau pan out to be impact playeers....I am going out on a limb and syaing the Flames have done a quicker/more successful rebuild than the Oilers have done in 5 years time.

Sounds like what Steve Staois was sold as when Sutter dealt for him (bottom pairing guy with averagish size and leadership intangibles) except minus the bad contract and old as dirt/past his prime factors. Which isn't bad... not something to have joygasims over but not bad.

You should probably wait until they play games that actually mean something before you declare the rebuild complete and successful.

Little too soon to be declaring that, there is still a really hard road ahead and until we see what happens with the draft you can argue that the Oilers have way better high end midget power then we do, but strongly lack in terms of depth through thier lineup. While the Flames look like they have that good bottom 6 brewing up front and a good bottom 3 on the blueline. But the Flames like the Oilers have serious questions in net.

Lets try to remember that next season returns as a 82 game season as opposed to a quick spring season that tended to make the Oilers look closer then they are.

Really glad Feaster could get Ramage to sign. He has had a decent career at WISC and Captain on the American team. 6'2 210lbs nice.
Ramage has been a guy that i was intrigued about since he was drafted so i'm relieved he stuck to signing with the Flames as these NCAA guys are somewhat not a sure bet that they always stick with their drafted teams.

I really doubt that it took much convincing on Feaster's part. I like Ramage as a prospect, and think it's possible he ends up an OK bottom pairing NHL Dman, but IMO it's not like he would have had boat loads of options after August 15th.

Hence why I said two players need to become impact players for it to be successful.

That's not a risk the Flames should take. Ramage is everything the Flames are lacking on the blue line and you hate to watch that walk away because you're nickel and diming a guy. Flames need a blue liner with some grit and leadership. It's been missing since Regehr lost his desire to play for the Flames. Not saying Ramage will be as good as Regehr, but the same qualities exist. Plus, he hates to lose.

He'll be a great leader wherever the farm team is next year. Given that his upside is bottom-pairing D man he should have every chance to succeed right off the bat. This season was his best by a long shot in the NCAA, and I wonder how much if it has to do with Weisbrod's comments about him I'm the off season. He seemed pretty 'meh' about Ramage to the press, and Ramage went out and doubled his offensive numbers. Must have an awesome attitude.

I think we should sign Gary Suter's kid as well. And any MacInnis, Gilmour, Mullen, Loob, Vernon & Otto relatives we can find.

Is it a different son than Carson MacInnis? I think it would have to be, because Carson is 21 years old.

He pops up a lot in 2014 draft projections. I'm a big fan of going after these 2nd generation Flames. Talk about following in your father's footsteps!

Unfortunately we'll have to wait 17 years to draft this guy:

The Avs will bring back Sacco 17 years from now in order to draft him.
