Quick question: Does Lindholm have more, less or as much upside a fellow Swede Zibanejad when he was drafted?

Lindholm is a much better prospect than Zibanejad was. Not even close.

Honestly? I would risk on Nichuskin. It depends on the interview's that the Flames have with these players but boy does he look like an elite talent. I know i was skeptical about him earlier but since the standings have changed i'm more open minded about him but i would still take any one of the top 4 before him, as well as Lindholm and Monahan. If the Flames don't want to risk it then i say take Nurse. But i have a feeling that Tampa or Carolina will take Nichuskin seeing he fits the mold for both of those teams and Drouin will most likely not be on the board when they both pick.

There is a topic on Nichuskin where people pretty much address this already but I would take Nurse at 7 if that were the case.

8/9/10 is where it gets interesting for me as I am not as keen on Ristolainen or Shinkaruk and that is where I might take the chance on Nichuskin.

Is there a chance we could still have a shot at Barkov as late as 5th? I think there is.

A 3-4 team could take the risk on Nichuskin. Very possible Carolina does.

Expect the unexpected at the draft. That's what I've learned over the years.

Anyone know if Lindholm is under contract for next season with Eliteserien?

For people who follow WHL, what's the scouting report on Hunter Shinkaruk?

I don't, but it seems silly that any draft eligible player would be under contract to a pro team beyond this season.

Looks like the list has moved around some for this month. Do we go with a Dman or the Russian or continue the plan with Lindholm or Monahan.

Zadorov is already 230lbs ?!?!?

Can this kid move laterally? ... How's his skating and puck skills? ... is he physical?

Both Lindholm and Monahan ranked lower than before. Excellent!

Seriously, do people just not play Right Wing?

I think finding All-Star Right Wingers is harder to find than Centers.

For example, if you look at Team Canada's upcoming potential roster, 8+/13 of our forwards will be centers.

Looking at that list, the players who do shoot right are d-men or centers, with only 2/30 being RW.

That list isn't going to reflect draft day.

It's likely going to be

Jones
MacKinnon/Drouin
Barkov
Lindholm/Monahan

I've read he's a good skater who can sometimes take himself out of the play to go for a big hit. If Nurse, Jones, Drouin, MacKinnon, Monahan, Barkov, Lindholm, and Nichushkin are all gone he is the guy I want at 9

Seemed like a decent skater when I watched him in the Top Prospects game. And yes, he's quite physical.

I'm gonna have to re-watch that game and pay a bit closer attention to Zadorov and Nurse if we're drafting out of the top 4. Pretty sure he threw 2-3 big hits that game.

The first time I watched the game Nurse looked clearly better than Zadorov but it was only one game. Nurse is also physical and looks like he'll be a beast as well when he fills out.

Here's Craig Button's description of Zadorov from January:

http://www.tsn.ca/draftcentre/feature/?id=9840

"Nikita is a physical specimen who combines it with a very good skill set. Strong, powerful stride which he uses to his advantage defensively to move ahead or offensively to jump into the play. He's physical and will assert himself. When he does, he is capable of stopping opponents 'cold in their tracks.' Has a big shot and it can overwhelm goalies. He has really developed his game in London and is looking increasingly comfortable in all facets of his play. He has 'huge' upside and when you assess his overall game, he may be the type of defenseman, teams will 'step up' to select in the draft."

Here's Craig Button's description of Nurse from January:

http://www.tsn.ca/draftcentre/feature/?id=9841

"Big, strong and competitive and he imposes himself on opponents. Very strong skater with quickness, agility and balance that he uses very effectively to close on plays defensively and to move play ahead and out of his defensive zone. Has really developed his offensive game and he shows the capability of being a very well-rounded and dependable player. The type who can 'log' lots of important minutes in a game and these are valuable players in the NHL."

http://www.tsn.ca/draftcentre/feature/?id=49649

Nurse is currently 6th on Button's list. Zadorov is currently 11th on Button's list.
