This win just completely screwed the Flames. Seriously wtf are thy doing. 28th, possible 3/4th pick, with this win, 25th and 5/6th pick. This is worse than losing a must win to get in the playoffs. It is completely stupid especially when it's so obvious every team around them is pulling this tanking. Fml, can't even lose properly.

Yeesh, you guys are acting like the Flames are going to win each of their next five games. Chill out. Flames are bad for a reason. They're likely going to finish out the season on a dull note considering the upcoming competition. They've owned the Red Wings this season, but no one else that's fighting for playoffs.

With this win, the only chance the Flames have to draft MacKinnon is if they win the lottery.

It would have been cool to get one of these young franchise players like all these other teams have

The teams below them are bad for a reason too and just as likely to lose out as well.

CP is going to be hilarious when the Flames play Nashville on Tuesday.

Everyone understands that its a draft lottery right. You also understand that only 5 or 6 times in the past 14 years the 30th place team has actually retained the top pick right. Pro athletes are not going to tank games. Not going to happen.

It's cute that you think this team could win the lottery.

Our fate is written.

All those "young exciting players" the other teams have sure are working out well for them. This team needs to draft smart, not necessarily high.

You mean tough teams like the coyotes and wings who everyone was counting as a loss. They have won 4 of 6 now..... The teams below them have terrible schedules and prob won't win the 2-3 that will push them above the Flames now. This could actual set this team back 5 years. Year after year of mediocrity.

I think Chicago is pretty happy with Kane and Toews right now and I will have to check but my guess is Pittsburgh is fine with some of those late season losses that got them Crosby and Malkin.

Why not draft high and draft smart? That seems like a much better way to go about things than just drafting smart.

My hopes for a top 4 pick are gone.

I just have to hope that somehow, even with the Oilers, Red Wings, and Coyotes likely to win, that the Flames win the lottery.

Please Bettman. Do it for Murray Edwards.

And the Kings are ecstatic with Kopitar at 11. I don't want the Flames to be the Oilers. There's more than one way to skin a cat.

That is our only hope.

All these teams have great young players but we have pretty much nothing. Give us a break, please.

Say the Flames pick 7th this season, do you really think they are going to be that much better next season to not pick top 3? Do you really think that top 3 pick they will get next season is that much worse than the top 3 pick they would get this season? Wherever they finish this season, it's not like this "top 3 pick" is suddenly going to turn them into a contender. Lets be realistic.

So we can be happy with a Toews at 3 and then a Kopitar like pick at 16-18 with the Blues pick and get the best of both worlds.

Picking high doesn't mean being like the Oilers it means you have a much better chance at picking better players.

Let's face it, we're not one of the worst 3 teams in the league. Some unlucky losses had us convinced we might be but we just aren't as bad as some of these teams.

Which is good in a way and obviously bad for our draft position.
