I wanted to see Kiprusoff play a couple good games at home to end things off. I'm not worried about the draft pick. Flames now have more wins than the Oilers.

Vintage Kipper. Glad to see him get the W.

While it would be nice to draft top 3, it was really great seeing Kipper's performance tonight after his struggles this season.

This year's a different case. You draft anywhere in the top 10, you're getting yourself a damn good player. If we can't get MacKinnon, then there are quite a few more-than-acceptable consolation prizes.

Plus, cheering for losses is lame. I would rather watch the team compete than roll over and die.

Jesus I just realized we are now only 1 point behind the Oilers, another win if all the usual suspects do their tank act we will drop back into 8th pick. If the Oilers pick above us in the draft that would be such a kick in the nuts.

I'm so conflicted. I did find myself cheering for the win at the end though, so I guess that says it all.

The great thing about this situation is that losses don't hurt as much as they would if we were in the hunt. And a win is still a tasty win.

Way to go Kip.
Since the deadline they are .500 does that mean all these "awesome" wins are contributing to mediocrity begets mediocrity?

Its not like these games where they play poorly and win are teaching the young guys great lessons or giving them some culture of winning.

If the Wings and Blue Jackets completely flop the Flames can make the playoffs by running the table, Awesome!

And what drives me crazy is that we appear to be too stupid to realise that this pick IS our payback for trading iginla. And we can't even help ourselves.

This year is like every other draft year if you don't get the top 2-3 guys your chances of getting an elite player drops immensely.

The consolation prizes might turn out okay but the chances that they are the elite player this team needs are pretty slim.

Not cheering for losses, cheering for good efforts and if they happen to lose then that's just fine and dandy.
