if they were called every time, and I think they should be, I wouldn't mind, but to call it then when it is let go so often is baffling
especially from a linesman
As a striker, I do as well. In some cases, the offenders are tugging so much that the officials are really given no option but to call it. Yesterday, the linesman was able to see the extent to which Giroud was having his shirt tugged (i.e. one could no longer read 'Fly Emirates' as it was so stretched) while the ref couldn't as the players were side-to-side and had their backs to the ref. I will admit that the linesman was probably at fault for the corner because I think it most likely came off of Ramsey.

Considering how much a Geordie can drink, he probably honestly thought it was an ugly Sunderland supporter...

The penalty was probably the easiest decision for the linesman (even through my canary-coloured glasses). That being said, I have seen a lot worse get let go, particularly jostling and shirt pulling in the box. The decision on the corner was poor, and the third goal was clearly offside, even though it was pretty much lights out for Norwich at that point anyway. So the linesman had a bad day, there's no doubt. He couldn't get his primary function correct when it mattered (touchlines and offside), which helped lead to two goals.
The effort from Norwich was encouraging, but it sure would have been a nice way to inch towards safety with a result at The Emirates. I think that they'll still be safe, but quite honestly, if they can't beat Reading at home next week, they don't deserve to be in the Premier League.

Former Paris Saint-Germain sports advisor Michel Moulin declared on French TV on Sunday night that Rooney to PSG was a "done deal".
However, representatives of both Rooney and Manchester United have distanced themselves from the comments, and no evidence has yet come to light to support Moulin's statements.
I have seen that shirt tug not given a 1000 times. To be honest I have a big problem with penalties that are given by the linesmen, because that always shows the referee wasn't sure if it's a penalty or not. He was standing right there, and didn't deem it to be a penalty. So if the linesmen has somehow seen it from a further away and asked the referee to give it for something that happens in the penalty box on a regular basis during a game, that's highly debatable in my opinion.
I would think Rooney is closer to 20 because of his wages
but my guess is he stays and SAF switches him to CM full time next year as the furthest forward in a midfield 3, thats when bringing in Lewa makes sense, Sid Lowe says Falcao wants to play in London so I don't think he's going to United
Arsenal will probably go on to get in to a CL spot.
I remember a press conference a few months ago where Wenger got angry at reporters and cited the same doubts by them 12 months earlier when it looked like Arsenal were in danger of not making the top 4.
They don't win many trophies, but they always seem to qualify for the CL. It doesn't matter how bad they are at the beginning of the season, or the fact they lose their best players every summer.
I'd be extremely surprised if they sold Rooney, I'm 100 percent sure that he stays. If he doesn't, I'm willing to have a City avatar for a month and suffer in silence.
The Falcao rumour gave me a good laugh though. Sometimes I get the feeling that bored journalists randomly pull the name of a player out of one hat and the name of a club out of another, just to make up a good story.

It will be interesting to see how the new arrangements work for Canada next year. As I understand it, Sportsnet and TSN now have a 50/50 split of matches for next season, so that should result in more matches being available live and on delay, and without a subscription to a premium channel like Sportsnet World.
On the topic of TV, I wonder how much influence the new TV deal will have on the scheduling of matches. Traditionally, 3:00 on Saturday is when most games are played. The 1:30 and 5:00 time slots on Saturday, along with the a Sunday fixture or two, are clearly for the TV audiences. If fewer matches are played simultaneously, there should be less audience splitting. Will this mean more Sunday and mid-week games so that the matches won't compete for an audience with each other?
Purists in England (like my cousin) already cuss non-traditional times for matches for TV, but the revenue is simply so important to the league.

Eventually they might just switch to the system used in countries like the Netherlands where top flight matches are played on a different day than lower league matches. The new TV agreement for clubs begins next season and it is pretty large, the next deal might be able to convince club owners to make the switch as money talks.

I don't think Sportsnet World will phase out, if anything I could see an extra version being added to show them all live
at most there are 7 games at 3pm
1 late game
1 early and late on sunday
but that changes depending on an early saturday game, and a monday game
to be able to show them all live they need more than
TSN/TSN2/SNET/SNET1/SNWL
only 5 channels and they likely won't be able to use them all
