Columbus wins

Stupid Avs. They are where they are in the standings for a reason, I guess.

With that Columbus win, the Wings really need 2 points against the Flames on Wednesday.

Gigure has whooped the Avs into shape. They've gotten a point in every game since he bashed them. Someone on the Preds, Lightning and Canes need to do the same.

Avs are pathetic coughing up that lead 30 seconds after they got it.

That said the point is big, they win the tiebreaker with us in the draft pick race when we're level on points. Getting a point hopefully means we'll end up clearly above or below them.

Too bad Nashville is playing like an embarassment to the game though.

looks good on the cocky wings fans to be hanging on to 8th for their lives, hope they miss but they can have the two points Wednesday

They don't, actually. The first tiebreaker is regulation/overtime wins, and we're up 16-13 on that one. We also hold that tiebreaker against Nashville by the same difference. Head to head record is the second tiebreaker.

Sharks about to win puts three points between them and the Blues; Wild win leapfrogs the Blues

Avs and Preds are the first two teams officially eliminated from postseason contention.

Now that's not something I'm used to seeing. Yikes just noticed they've lost 7 in a row. Brutal.

Bachman kept the Stars hanging around, despite puck domination by all four 'Hawk lines...Toews opened with a tip of a sweet feed by Hossa, and Stalberg blew by the Dallas D to make it 2-0 (Stalberg will be a UFA at season end, and the 'Hawks will have a hard time fitting him under the cap next year)...Benn scored 2 to tie it at 2, but then Kane teed up Shaw for the GWG, and Hossa dropped the puck to a wide open Hjarlmasson trailing 3 minutes later, as the 'Hawks completely snuffed the Stars' offense in the 3rd. Both teams have been pathetic on the PP lately, but at even strength, the 'Hawks have been stellar all year. Hossa added an ENG, that he really was hesitant to shoot, but the Stars took away Shaw and and the D-Men trailers that Hossa was looking to reward with the easy goal. Emery was ok, but, the Stars didn't generate too much sustained offense.

That is for the western conference. The Panthers were the first team eliminated from the race and that was on Saturday night.

Two SHUTOUTS on the OOT for Monday. The Sharks beat the Coyotes 4-0 but it was a whole lot of shots that was the amazing stat. There were 76 shots in total, the Sharkies lead that stat 41-35 and had 24 shots in the 2nd period!. Both goalies, Niemi and Labarbera, played well in this duel. Big win for the Sharks as they are just 1 point back of the 4th place Kings. The Leafs win 2-0 and they found a massive horseshoe as they were outshot 30-13, Reimer was great in goal for the Leafs. The BJs keep their playoff hopes alive as they won 4-3 in OT. That was a big win in OT instead of a SO win as it could help them in the ROW tie breaker. The Canucks get one step closer to clinching 3rd place in the west with the 5-2 win over the Predators. The Bhawks take over in the 3rd period and beat the Stars 5-2. The Flyers crush the Habs 7-3 in the Bell Centre. What is happening to Price?
