Throwing him into the fire fresh out of college? Would rather see Nemisz or even Jones again, but I wouldn't mind eating crow about it.

The point of this move is to see where guys are in their development. We know where jones and nemisz are.

They would have to burn one of their 4 non-emergency AHL call-ups to bring in one of them (I think they still have one left, and are holding it for Cundari). Hanowski wasn't in the AHL, so he doesn't have to meet any conditions to play.

Anyone here a barber? Might be able to get some free publicity.

Nemisz should never play in Calgary again.

Just the other day he was playing Quinnipiac and now he's going to debut in the NHL.

Quite the move. Let's see how he handles it.

Perhaps the reason Hankowski hasn't been assigned to the Heat is because he has heard of Ward's love of haircuts you can set your watch to.

Don't see the harm in this.

He's used to being relatively dominant against college kids. Worst case scenario, this cup of coffee kicks him in the ass and shows him where he needs to be if he wants to stay on the club.

I'm really not excited to see him play, really just cant get excited about him. It'll be great if there is a reason to get excited or even if he just plays well. Otherwise just feels kinda meh.

As I understand it, that's sort of the point. Give the kid an idea about what he needs to do during the summer/in the fall in order to become a regular with the big club.

Whether he'll succeed in doing those things is a different matter.

You gotta be excited about seeing this kid, just because of the hair. And because it is the Iginla deal.
Because of what he is likely to bring to the NHL club going forward.... not so much.
Gotta love this guy, though, however it plays out.

Because all that those three players have in common is that they are young. Baertschi is a high level prospect that will be on a scoring line. Reinhart max's out as a good third line center but he is not even yet a sure-fire NHLer. Hanowski has never played a game in the NHL and if he does make it full-time, I doubt it is on the top two lines.
