Bowman has 12 rings through coaching and management. I believe he's a senior advisor to the Blackhawks.
Robinson has 9 as a player/coach/scout. He's an associate coach in San Jose.

So what your saying is that on top of being a piss-poor manager with the Oilers, Lowe is also piss-poor at mathematics.

Wow, what a joke of a team!!! How can the Oilers ownership keep Kevin Lowe for a very long time? I understand he was one of the Oilers leaders during his playing days but he's been a joke since he became one of the management. I am not saying Steve Tambellini doesn't deserve to be fired but I think he became a scapegoat here. Another joke today is replacing him with someone they fired as a head coach a few years ago. It doesn't matter how many first round pick overall the Oilers will have, they will keep missing the playoff until the joker KLowe is fired.

Bringing up the amount of cups won as a player is ridiculous. In the GM office it is a completely different arena. Having won as a player hardly has any determining factor on how to build a team. It is as relevant as a player turned coach talking about how many points he had.

I'm happy enough they didn't pick up Burke. Gives us the opportunity to pick him up as our president in a month.

Risebrough should be calling up Lowe looking for a job. He has 4 Stanley Cups as a player and one as an assistant coach.

On his wikipedia right now:
Quote:
Kevin Hugh Lowe (born April 15, 1959) is a retired defenceman and coach in the National Hockey League and the current President of Hockey Operations for the Edmonton Oilers. As a defenceman, he played for the Edmonton Oilers and the New York Rangers before becoming a world class a--hole as a perennial losing executive with the Edmonton Oilers.

Mac said something drastic will have to be done. My bet is Yakopov is traded in the summer.

I getting a lot of "well he/ I went back to school for my executive MBA in business from Queen's University" from what I am reading and hearing. To all of you Uni educated people (I am in the trades) will an "executive MBA in business from Queen's University" help him land a Milan Lucic (type of player) and negotiate with 21 year old multi-millionaires?

All those Oilers fans that showed up on this board after the O'Reilly fiasco...
...would like to hear their thoughts on this.

You could have a framed coupon from Pizza 73 on your wall, and still be more qualified at running a team than those clowns.

With his "executive MBA in business from Queen's University" he had better not use to many big words around Lowe.

I think the Oilers are my 2nd favourite team just for the pure entertainment they provide.

Feaster to McTavish : I will take Jordan Eberle or Sam Gagner and will give D Chris Butler, C Matt Stajan, D Anton Babchuk and throw in Paul Byron. What do you think?
McTavish to Feaster : Let me ask KLowe for permission but i think we can make a deal... call you back in 5 minutes.
Out of the Oilers young guys, i would only go after Eberle or Gagner. Hall, RNH and Yakupov are definitely untouchables. So as Justin Schultz.

They can be your least favorite team and you can still enjoy the entertainment - just saying...

I think a lot of GM's will be hoping to test out MacTavish's GM skills seeing how he's already talking a big game in hopes of shaking things up. It's not easy making deals in the NHL anymore and the Oilers don't have a lot in trade assets outside of their beloved top young players and they certainly aren't going to get a top defensemen for MPS, Gagner or Hemsky.

That was my thought when I heard that too. If they don't win the lottery, I wonder if they try to package Yak and their own first rounder for first overall to try to get Jones?

No, but one of those plus their first pick this year might warm up the phone lines

That would be pretty fair to Florida. If it's Colorado with the 1st, I don't think they'd take it given they're probably pushing for Jones. Interesting scenario though.
