This is the greatest day ever! I am having a ton of fun at work with this (the diehard Coil fans are hating this move). Can you imagine if they got Nill or Hex or some other promising GM. MacT...man I love it. Bring Moreau in as his assistant GM...or perhaps Bucky.

They are taking the Raptor approach....except more better.

I love how Lowe grilled the reporter for being "impatient" with the rebuild plan, yet he just fired his GM because he's impatient with the rebuild. Pure gold.

AND MacT describes himself as impatient in the same press conference.

Ventured over to the HF Oilers board, about 99% of them are pissed. As long as Lowe's around no real changes will happen is what they were mostly saying.

I guess I just don't get how all of these first round picks for the Oilers constantly get this praise for being "elite" or "top level". Yes they are young and will no doubt improve over time but not one of them has ever topped 80 points in an NHL season. The only player producing at a point per game pace is Taylor Hall. It's as if they've already been anointed with superstar status without having accomplished anything.

Well I'm done with this team for a while since it seems Lowe will stay at helm. I'll still watch on occasion, but I have no remorse or emotion anymore. The hockey teams for me are the Hitmen and Team Canada.

Isn't this like the third time you've been "done with this team" this season?
You're the worst.

I would like to thank the Edmonton Oilers organization.
I've been having a fairly bad week..working too much, knowing that there is only 3 Flames home games left this year etc. It was even my birthday yesterday and it was just another day really. Had to work, didn't do anything afterwords.
So I I was feeling kinda meh and pissed off at life, when, having a rare Monday off, I saw the news, and was able to watch the entire press conference.
Between that and reading the DGB 'inside story' on the hiring, my abs actually hurt from all the laughing, I've been smiling all day, and am looking forward to tonight's game, even if it is Minnesota on a Monday at the end of a season that ends without a playoff game.
So again, thanks to the entire Edmonton Oilers organization.
