I have a feeling this guy is going to develop into a more consistent Glencross.

That's some pretty high standards IMO.

See him fitting more of a Hartnell type guy. Here's hoping it is true.

So he's gonna be a 40 goal scorer?

Love it when people talk about their "feelings" in regards to young players they've never seen or barely seen.

I'd take that too. A nice complimentary player to ride shotgun to some of our smaller high skill players. I think he and Agostino will be important players for this team as they bring skill and size to the table.

It was the same reaction when we traded big joe to Dallas, people were pissed we didn't get anyone good for him and it turned out we got a franchise player. Now I'm not saying these guys are a lock at becoming that but at least give them a shot before we bash the trade. Give your heads a shake
I'm assuming that shot was at me since I used the term "known commodity". Before you tell me to give my head a shake maybe look at my other posts just above the one you're referring to. I said Im excited to see Hanwoski get his shot and see what he's made of.

Yeah, good or bad, I hate when someone posts what their gut is telling them.

I love it when people make assumptions in regards to users that they've never seen a player play.

If Hanowski turns into the same type of player as Nystrom, that'd be wonderful.

If Hanowski turns into the same type of player as Moss, we should all be very happy with that IMO.

If Hanowski turns into the same type of player as Glencross, we should all be doing "the dance of joy".

Same can be said about Agostino too IMO.

So you've seen him more than "barely"? Or no?

I think Hanowski could be a more physical Ryan Jones.

I'd like to see him play. Then I'll be able to make a snap judgement about his proper comparable.

Hopefully we get to see him play Monday or Wed. We know little about him.
I just want to see some promise.

As far as I can tell, the last time Glencross scored 40+ goals was with the Brooks Bandits.

He's only emerged as a 25-30 guy in the last 3 years.

The poster said he'll be a more consistent Glencross. Considering Glencross has scored at 30 goal pace this season and last that means a more consistent Glencross is around a 40 goal scorer.

Kind of a ridiculous projection. And I question how many games the poster had seen which generated this "feeling" of his/her.

No point expecting Hanowski to directly replace Iginla which is what the poster inadvertently did. We don't need unrealistic expectations on our prospects, especially the ones who aren't high 1st rounders.

I have a gut feeling he'll turn into a mixture of Probert and Gretzky, with a dash of Derlago.

I don't really have any assumptions as to what this kid can become.

I seen him in one game. From hearing about him, he has loads of character and is a 'leader'. He has high hockey IQ. He has scoring upside, but is considered to have a 'fringe NHL'er' probability on him.

What do I personally expect out of him? I expect he would be jacked up to play his first game in the NHL, and that he is going out there and play hard every single shift, and make a ton of mistakes (he is a rookie and needs a bit of time to develop of course). I do expect him to eventually be a damn good character guy either on the Heat or on the Flames, and I will be happy with that. Anything in the same ballpark as Nystrom, and I will be very happy. If he ends up being a Moss, I will be jumping for joy.

Sounds like I am not up on this kid - I actually am and I am excited to see him. As far as I have seen from him or have heard about him (which really isn't much) the character traits are really high, and thus I think he is a welcome addition.
