But of course, it's the Super sexy, speedy exciting, young offensive powerhouse Oilers against the ugly, plodding, low scoring, boring Flames. At least that is what Kevin Lowe and his minions have tried, and somewhat successfully I might add, to brainwash everyone into believing. You'd think maybe people would at least check and see which of these two powerhouses has scored the most goals before they start showering them with praise.

The notion of accepting or hoping for losses is a slippery slope in my eyes. Not only based on the real-world evidence that is Edmonton and its fans, but the simple matter that the line becomes needlessly blurred between when the M.O. should be to lose, and when it's "acceptable" to cheer for wins again. How many top 5 picks do we need before it isn't idiotic to hope for a win every night? Most are writing off next year's team already also, so do we prepare to argue about this same crap in every game thread for another 82 game season?

Hot air as it may be, I'm inclined to endorse Feaster in his refusal to allow a deep plunge into the perpetual motion machine of accepting constant failure as a route to success. I'll be as ecstatic as everyone else to see who we draft in a couple of months, but hell if I'm going to void my loyalties for the sake of the grease.

This is what scorched earth looks like. Thats unquestionably the worst Flames roster Ive ever seen. There's only about 9 guys or so on that roster who currently deserve NHL roster spots based on their present level of play. And only one of those guys is a 1st line/pairing guy.

I'm happy to see a lot of new/young guys on the roster, but this team can't shelter them in any way, which isn't the best way to introduce guys to the big show. But the Flames just don't have the horses to do anything else right now, I suppose.

Never in a million years would I ever have expected to say this, but... I think Matt Stajan might be the most irreplaceable player on the team right now.

Anyways, Go Flames Go! I'll be up till 5am watching this game!
You obviously weren't aware of the 1998-99 post-Fleury-trade Flames lineup. Honestly man, those were dark days.

Cheering for a win tonight. A win against the Oilers is worth dropping into the 4-6 draft position. Lindholm or Monahan could be as good as any of the top 5 guys.

So we called up Street and Aliu, so both are playing, and Babchuk is not playing forward? Hearing a lot of stuff.

I hope we destroy the Oilers tonight, then I don't care if we win another game for the rest of the season. There is something ingrained in my DNA that simply cannot tolerate the Flames losing to the Oilers.

I want the Oilers to win so they are just out of reach of a high draft pick but do not make the playoffs.

I predict that if the Oilers win Stang and Walter Reed will make an appearance and claim they "always come around win or lose" and not to troll. If they lose they won't be here
