Realistic crowds would be nice. Guys at EA must think the Coyotes sell out every home game

More options in create-a-team and create players is a must

Better and more frequent roster updates

I thought the gameplay for NHL 13 was fine, loved the skating

If the home team is down 7-0 after the second period, fans start leaving during the third.

I would really enjoy the passing engine to be improved. It seems like every pass goes to the back foot and never leads the player. Unless I'm missing a slider or option or something?

This is a pet peeve - people saying things that don't work the way they think they should work, or don't work particularly well, are "broken". Broken implies totally unplayable. Starting out as a 54 does not make the mode unplayable, it makes the mode less fun.

See, this kind of stuff puzzles the hell out of me. Everyone complains that NHL is a barely functional hockey game, yet rather than address the fundamental gameplay and load time issues, people want EA to spend their resources on trivial presentation junk like the crowds and the goalie masks? Who cares - make the game work first.

If you're going to add new features, make them functional. For example, for anyone who plays online GM connected, add a feature where you can play other teams that aren't on your schedule in "exhibitions" that don't count for anything. Too often you're online and the teams you're scheduled to play aren't around, but you want to play anyway. This would also limit the issues with playoffs, where the majority of the league goes inactive because they have no games for a month or so, and half of them are never seen again the following season.

Within the game there are obvious frustrating errors, like guys getting the puck and automatically turning into a check to ensure they'll be stripped of the puck, or poke check efficacy, or the weird catch-up logic that they swear doesn't exist but pretty obviously does. Skating, physics, all sorts of gameplay issues that do need to be worked on. I don't care if all the goalies play wearing blank hasek-style cage helmets if the game plays better.

That's because we all focus on something different.

If memory serves, you play a lot of online, where the frustrating mechanics are very obvious. I play mostly offline, where I can homebrew my edits to the game to get a fairly realistic experience (though hit counts are low due to how NHL 13 counts hits). Demands between the two of us are likely to vary quite greatly.

I'd actually love to see some of these graphic things. Custom goalie masks, something akin to creating your own logos in the newer Mario Kart games, would be a lot of fun. It'd likely need to be taken off for online modes, where only default masks are used else everybody adorn their masks with offensive material, but it would feel great for offline be a pro.

I would agree though that the rubberband AI needs to be removed.

the idea that ea cant walk and chew bubble gum at the same time is infuriating. YES ea can fix the crowds while at the same time improving gameplay.

No no, you're so terrible that it makes the game mode unplayable.

I only play online so I could care less about all the fluff pieces most people are pining for.

I think the gameplay physics are pretty good but could probably use a little tweaking. I find the lift stick button to be fairly useless because unless you time it just perfectly you end up with a slashing or high sticking penalty a high percentage of the time, so I don't even use it at all.

Sometimes the tie-up faceoff draw at centre ice is really hard to defend cause it's nearly impossible to switch players before their winger takes it and skates past your defenceman for a breakaway.

They do need to make it for the PC again through, I spend more time on my PC than I do nowadays with my PS3 and I am pretty sure I am not the only one.

If the ever did decide to release on PC again, it would just be a lame port anyway.

I bought 13 a couple of weeks ago and was so pissed that I did. unless you mix the sliders so far in your favor it's impossible to have fun at all in this game.

I wish we could start a new franchise and actually have names in the system like Ian so when I creat a player they can say my actual name.

skating sucks, hitting makes me want to kick the pope in his nuts.

There won't be a new Xbox for this game will there? The 360 will be my final console.

No. The new Xbox is being released for the Christmas season (according to rumours) and the NHL games always come out in mid September.

I have played over 800 games online and I think poke check is fine, not overpowered in the slightest. The whole point of hockey is to skate to open ice and to pass to open players. Too many people got spoiled by the puck control in 11 & 12 and try to figure skate or skate through players this year and when unsuccessful they claim poke check is overpowered.

End to ends happen once every 3-4 games. Expecting them to happen 3-4 times a period is rediculous. Goalies need better consistency, I like that the simple one timer is much harder now and that games are not 9-7.

The thing I want removed the most is the hidden attributes (playmaker is naturally a better passer even with the same passing rating as a sniper etc). Let the builds max out at different levels (like they do now) and let that be what makes the players skate and play different, give the playmaker a high pass cap & cheaper points in passing etc. Next the "questionable" attributes. Offensive/Defensive awareness, durability, aggressiveness etc. These attributes are useless in the overall aspect on the BAP creator. I think those ratings should develop as you play. Gets lots of takeaways defensive awareness increases, put yourself in bad positions or get burned by cherrypicking it decreases. Go for the hit regularly, agressiveness increases.

The last NHL game I purchased as NHL 04. I've been playing Eastside Hockey Manager since.
