Default Battle of Alberta - April 13/13

Just win this one boys and you can lose the rest if you have to.

No. I don't care if it's the Oilers. This season has sucked too much to watch a top 3 pick pass us by as well.

Lose Flames lose.

As long as Lindholm its the consolation prize, i won't be too hurt. MacKinnon would be ideal though.

6-5 oilers. Sven, Max, TJ, Roman and Mikael all score and get at least 1 assists each.

Some things go beyond petty rivalries, and the rivalry between Calgary and Edmonton has been as meaningless as it gets over the last few years. I can't believe people would be willing to sacrifice an opportunity at a franchise changing player for a day or two of being able to tease that ######bag Oilers fan at the office.

I want a chance to get an elite player that we can be excited about for the next 15 years. I want that number one center that every cup winning team is built around. Screw the battle of Alberta. The battle that matters is the battle for Mackinnon. Anything less and I can easily see Feaster and co screwing it up and setting us back even farther.

Hall really shouldn't be playing tonight. He should have been suspended, for the second time this year, for his slash on Michalek the other night.

P.S Does anyone have footage of that slash?

Absolutely ridiculous mentality.

If the Flames win tonight, Edmonton only has a 3 point lead on Calgary. I certainly don't want to live in a world where EDM gets a higher pick then the Flames in the 2013 Draft.

Can't do it. Cannot hope Calgary loses, ever. No matter who their playing. I would also be happy to see another dent in edmontons playoff hopes.

I'll keep that in mind if the Flames end up shooting themselves in the foot in these last 10 games and walking away from the draft with zero franchise talent.

I actually care about the big picture over meaningless wins over another loser organization. You can call that whatever you like.

7 - 2 Calgary

With all the younger players on both teams this should make for a good game. Cannot cheer for a Flames loss against the Oilers under any circumstances, especially with a Flames win will put the dagger into any Oilers hopes of playoffs, that right there makes it all worth it. I'll be there, and hope to see the looks in the eyes, of the Oilers fans knowing their team won't be in the playoffs again.

By hoping they never lose, you are accepting mediocrity.

Teams NEED to lose eventually. They need to cycle through, hit the bottom in order to start the climb back up. Otherwise they will forever be stuck in the middle, always being passed by teams that are filled with fresh, young talent.

This franchise deserves better than that and this year is their chance to do it. It's only eight-frickin-games. Do you really want to experience year 5 of missing the playoffs next year?

Posts like this make me hope that, regardless of which Club drafts him, that MacKinnon turns into an epic bust of Daigle like proportions. Then you will know what I know. And that is that god hates you.
