With a 4 game road trip to close the season, I wouldn't worry about winning too much.

Blame the new guys, they're auditioning for jobs.

The Flames can't even suck properly.

At least this year there are 6 guys that are all really good. Hopefully we get one of them.

What did you expect to happen when the team pulled up a bunch of young guys that are hardowrking, playing loose/jobs, and that wanna win?

Draft position be damned...I wanna see the young guys compete.

These seems perfectly fitting to sum up how Reinhart looked tonight. Taking out the big guys for Phoenix.

No Beezley was a breath of fresh air. I can't recall the guys name for the life of me but he does the Hitmen games, and he's also a radio guy. A radio guy as we that doesn't botch names, or like to hear his own voice at as loud as possible, as much as possible.... or sound like the next words out of his mouth are asking callers about calling in for Supertramp tickets.

As for the game, our daughter is 3-0 now when she attends, dating back to NYE 2010 when she was 6 months old when the Flames beat the Oilers.

Good effort around, solid play by MacDonald, and good to hand that dick Doan and Morris a shot against their playoff hopes.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that all the under 25 players are playing well. I'm thrilled that they are all looking like NHL players moving forward.

It's just that we desperately need a potential franchise player type among our prospects and that won't be feasible if we're picking 6th or 7th (unless we risk Nichushkin).

I don't want the Flames to become Edmonton (prolonged sucking), so we need to be able to get some elite talent in this team somehow, as we are seeing the emergence of some really good secondary players (Horak, Reinhart, Backlund)

looking at other teams that have bottomed out and rebuild, one of the hardest parts to accomplish is having the young guys learn to win at the NHL level.

The sooner guys like Backlund, Baertschi, Reinhart, etc start to learn about winning the better.

@cbcDougDirks
#Flames coach Bob Hartley says Alex Tanguay's knee injury doesn't look good. Looks like newly signed Ben Hanowski will be in lineup shortly.

My first thought after seeing Tanguay go down was that he'll likely need surgery. Tough way to end a season.

What are they learning from this game?

Play like crap and hope the other team plays just as bad? I am sure that will help lead to a lot of wins in the future.

Flames win and the "losers" begin the gnashing of teeth and the tearing of clothes. I love it.

Don't let the stench of losing linger to long. Too many teams learn it.

I'd rather have our young guys improve their game and confidence, than to keep the "gotta get the 1st pick" thought in their mind and distract themselves from winning. A young player should only have "win" on their mind and never "maybe we'll get a savior next season": for that can damage a career. Only Oilers have "losing is ok because good days are coming" attitude - the good days have not come, and they've all aged 3-4 years.
