Google now? I hit the microphone button and say "remind me to do my timesheet at 4:50" and it pops up with an alarm at 4:50...

And as for reminders, wouldn't Google Now work just as well? Can only do same day reminders though.

I believe all Google Now will do is set alarms and not actual events (unless you are in the States). The only way I can get this to work is to set calendar events but that can be a pain as well.

There is this workaround for now. Basically make a contact on your phone that is your google calendar and then send txt messages to it via google now.

Only in the USA for now unfortunately. Tried this in the past and nothing happens.

Yeah this makes no sense to me. A reminder sets an alarm that I have to go in and manually delete from my list of alarms...?

Yeah I know, it is kind of stupid. It seems all the tools are there but they don't interact like one would want or expect.

You'd figure saying set appointment for 10am friday would be easy peasy.

I've asked before in this thread but I have a hard time wrapping my head around this being totally impossible on an Android device.

Wunderlist is so close but I can't stand the 10 or so taps it takes just to enter a reminder time.

Any suggestions?
S Voice with the GS3?

Any of those voice apps should be able to do it though. The ones that pretend to be Siri. There are numerous ones in the play store that would allow you to push a button and set a reminder/calendar item.

You'd think so. Please give me the name of one you know that works this way.

One of the best looking ones out there, Maluuba. Reminds you a lot of Win8.
Doesn't speak back, but I've found it pretty nifty to use. It competed with Google Now for a bit but it's hard to match the power of Our Google Overlords.

From what I can tell, you can choose to have 3 types of entries either through voice or text. Alarms, calender inputs, and a to-do list like alarm that you can check off.

Just a basic Google search...I have played with some of these, but now with S Voice, I don't need them. Maybe give them a shot:

I've seen both mentioned in this thread before, so which would you recommend out of these 2 keyboards, Swype Beta or Swiftkey Pro?

I've used Swype Beta the last couple months and like it, but in the last month or so its become quite laggy at times. When I go to write a text, it can take over 10 seconds for the keyboard to appear sometimes. And even when it does, it lags in spots. My main attraction to Swype is the swype function itself, its my go-to while texting. I believe Swiftkey features it too, is it smooth? Is it a better keyboard over-all, or are they pretty interchangeable?

I purchased Swiftkey and also Kii keyboard. I personally prefer Kii because it is so configurable. Kii has basic typing as well as swype style typing.

Anybody got any good recommendations for games? I love sims, rts, and strategy games. Something like Civ would be great. I don't mind paying for games but hate the ones where you need to buy upgrades, etc.

I'm in the same boat as far as games I enjoy. Only thing I've found so far is Rebuild. Really fun, but gets old after a while. Definitely worth it though. Devils attorney is also worth the money.

So is JuiceDefender still the best batter app on the market or are there others that are better?

I don't use Juice Defender anymore, just see no need on the Nexus. But I am hearing a lot about Greenify these days. Might be worth checking out.
