LOL, I can't think of a neighborhood short of Britannia that would have lower ridership than Aspen. Like those guys would be caught dead riding in Scum Class.

Well you can't say they aren't checking tickets on the new line. I have been checked the last two days in a row on my morning commute.

I'd say only the top part of Aspen would fall under that catagory (Aspen Ridge/Meadows). The rest of Aspen has Condos, a huge Brookfield Townhome development, and a ton of your typical downtown professionals in single family homes. Ridership would be quite high I'd imagine given the distance to downtown and the fact most everyone commutes downtown.

Agreed, however, at least at 69th St. they had giant signs around the entrances announcing they would be checking tickets today. If you're going down to the platform zone without a ticket, you deserve a fine.

I would agree, I know a few people that live in Aspen and most take transit. Those that don't are in management positions and have parking. There are a lot of young families in that area and on the south side of 17th in Montreax.

They didn't have signs at Sirocco. Yesterday they got on at 45st and today at Sunalta.

Bumping this thread since not everyone will read the Calgary Public Transit thread. Specifically people who might use the new West LRT, who this survey is directed at.

West LRT Survey

There is a survey put out by Calgary Transit asking riders in the West LRT area about their recent trips, the riding experience on bus and/or train and to compare them to before West LRT was operational.

No 108 means I was very unhappy in that survey.

Also posted in the Calgary Public Transit thread but not everyone checks that out on a regular basis.

West LRT Feedback Sessions

There are a number of West LRT feedback sessions being held at the stations terminals and other venues along the line.

From the looks of it, these sessions are CalgaryTransit focused? To date I've been thrilled with the WestLRT, but my main gripes lie with the signal timing at the crossings near the end of the line, which I believe is Roads dept's responsibility, and doesn't really fit in with the session's purposes.

The City really needs to rethink their ticketing policy. Why the heck have signs announcing it - let the cheap a$$e$ get ticketed. They deserve it.

Yeah, going up 17th ave is a nightmare now. They really do need to time the lights better. The only way your are not stopping multiple times is if you gun it after it goes green and run the yellow.

Ya. As soon as there is a train involved, all of 17th turns to junk. The roads that cross the LRT tracks seem to get a green before, during, and after the train crosses.
Why they keep giving a green to traffic blocked by the crossing arms is beyond me. It routinely happens @ the Christie Park Gate intersection, and its only a matter of time before an old person gets hit by an LRV.

Poor timing that backs up 17th is one thing, poor timing that gets someone hurt is another.

So they are using the same signalling strategy as 36th? Welcome to the nightmare the NE has dealt with for 25+ years.

WestLRT sent out an update email today and seems to have accidentally sent it with all the recipient's info public (just names and emails). Why hello there private email addresses of politicians, smooth move WestLRT.

Yeah, I was part of that list. 2700+ email addresses. Then they tried to recall it a couple of hours later. Too little, too late.
