Great effort from Backlund & most of the other young guns again. Am really impressed with Reinhart. He has a motor that never quits and he was flying out there and he also showed a rather potent wrister a couple of times.

Among the vets, Stumpy & Scoreface were really good tonight.

Thought Cervenka had a good game later on. Took advantage of some sloppy Nuck turnovers in the 3rd and displayed some crafty puck skills and good offensive zone hockey sense. He even made a nice hustle backcheck to thwart a good Nucks scoring chance shortly after the Nucks took a 2-1 lead. Good on him for that considering he hasn't been that good in his own zone and also considering the fact his skating often leaves something to be desired.

Jones I thought was rather invisible tonight and so was Baertschi.

Yeah, he's a better player than he's shown this year -- I don't see the point in selling low.

Tanguay sucks Plain and simple. You can literally see his face pout on every crappy play he makes. I hope he retires, is bought out or traded out here.

The Flames desperately need someone to take care of business in front of their own net.

Hopefully it remains unaddressed until next year.

Before this team is successful, whenever that may be, they'll have to find the next Regehr.

Kinda fun watching a hockey game that's not playing for the playoffs but at least is pumping younger players into the lineup.

The younger players are not the issue, some of the vets are really going through the motions here.

If we get a McKinnon next year, we have to get a mean and nasty enforcer type that's going to keep teams from running our young players and our goalie.

I'm pissed that Bieksa left on his own two feet tonight, espcially after the cheap shot on Backlund.

Also, Canucks fans who turn their backs to the rink as soon as they score just to be big ####y showboats really are the epitome of their fanbase. Great, your team just got us a step closer to our next franchise player, now why don't you actually watch the rink and cheer on your damn team? Man, you think they'd pipe down a bit considering the circumstances of the game.
Don't worry about it, the Canucks aren't going to be able to compete against LA or The Ducks or the Hawks in a long series. Their window is closing soon, their core players are aging, and their prospect base is unbelievably bad. Its more then likely that the Canucks will be in the cellar in the near future.

I think Horak looks a lot better than the previous times he was up. He's developed that extra first step which is helping him break away from backcheckers and pressure on the backcheck himself.

Sven is still missing that first step and really needs to work on his skating in the summer. For a small skilled guy, I think he needs to be quicker. With his skill level, that extra quickness will help him get to the scoring areas.

I like Reinhart's compete and he has a great slap shot. He still looks a bit raw out there and could use some more polish in the AHL. He reminds me of Chris Higgins.

I can't wait till this team is rid of Tanguay and Glencross. Tanguay has just checked out since Iggy left. He really shouldn't even be dressed. As for Glencross, I can't believe some were suggesting he be the next captain, the guy is the most selfish Flame out there. In that shift where Bieksa throw Backlund down after the whistle, Glencross was right there and just walked away. What the hell kind of a leader is that??? Iggy would have tuned Bieksa out. Just a pathetic response by Glencross, he doesn't have to fight Bieksa but at least go and back up Backlund, he just skated off. These two guys represent all that is wrong with the Flames, a sulker and a selfish and bad teammate.
Glencross doesn't have to dirty his hands standing up for a teammate, he's big shot scorer now.

The guy has just lost it. No point in benching him or Gio though. With those guys keeping up the great work Nathan Mackinnon will for sure be a Flame on draft day.

Yeah that was a despicable cross-check right to Backlund's chops. Multiple Flames should've mauled Bieksa after that. Instead they leave Backlund to have to fend for himself.

Tanguay was here for Iginla, it's no surprise, which is why they should have moved him out.

McGrattan should be resigned and hopefully we land Clarkson in the offseason

pretty evident that team toughness is a crucial problem that needs addressing. I am enjoying the swing to skill and funland but at some point the pendulum swings too far... like when you look like a bunch of teenagers getting beaten up all over the ice and your goalies crease is the opposing team's hangout joint.

Besides the kids playing well, the resurgence of Stajan and the good play of Stempniak have been the other big highlights of this year for me regarding Flames on-ice stuff.

Hope Stajan keeps up his solid season this year if he comes back.

Honestly, Vancouver reminds me of the Flames of a few years ago. Barren cupboard, aging team with cap issues, and a core that blew their one and only chance. Soon enough they will know the meaning of pain.
Here's the Canuck's core players. If that's an aging team then you can say that for just about every team in the NHL. Also, the Sedins take care of themselves really well, I can easily see another good 4-5 years from them.

Sedins (31) Kesler (27) Burrows (31) Bieksa (31) Garrison (27) Hamhuis (29) Edler (26) Schneider (26)

Don't worry about the Canucks cap issues, we have a capologist whose a genius at making everyone fit under the cap.

If we cant keep everyone, we'll simply buyout Booth and Ballard plus Luongo gone next summer = 15m of cap space freed up.

Also Alberts 1.2m will be gone, Derek Roy 5m that give us 21m.

The Canucks have no cap issues.

Horak, Rhino, and Brodie were beasts tonight.

Unfortunately Sven was a non-factor completely.
