at the end of the day you have to applaud the oilers for making it look so easy. I never would have thought it would be this difficult to be the worst team in the league.

Florida and Colorado where wins away from putting us in 30th. Amazing how tight it is between the three of our teams.

I think Tampa and Carolina are going to drop into the mix too.

With the way Ben Bishop is playing, I don't see Tampa competing with us. Carolina on the other hand.....

No way a team with Eric & Jordan Staal, Semin and Skinner finish below us. I can see us winning our game against the Avs (especially if we play the way we have these last two games) but i wouldn't be shocked if that was our last win of the season.

If there's only one win coming, I'd much rather it be against the Oilers. As is, they're already in tough to make the playoffs and having a helping hand in making sure they do would be terrific.

Pretty funny that all bottom 5 teams are from only 2 divisions.

Carolina should be embarrassed to be sitting in 5th last with all of that talent.

I don't want to Jinx anything....but, with the Flames well on their way to a 28-30 place finish...isn't it awesome to see Edmonton in that 10th place spot in the west. What did they call finishing 9th & 10th? The best of the losers.... and the worst non playoff draft spot.

No kidding. What is up with them? Coaching? Chemistry? Defense? Goaltending? Just seems odd.

They're missing Pitkanen, Ruutu, Faulk, and Ward. Not too surprising that they've fallen off recently.

With Florida winning tonight, tomorrow nights Flames v. Avs game can officially be classified as the "Toilet Bowl". Team that loses probably ends up in 30th....lets go Flames...

This probably won't happen, but if I were a coach, I would seriously consider benching Kipper for most of the remaining games. With the Florida win, Calgary now sits in the #29 spot. If they lose nearly all of their remaining games, they will finish dead last, and all but ensure they pick #1 Overall in the 2013 Entry Draft.
The Penguins did this in 1984, and fell behind New Jersey (a team far worse), and ended up drafting Mario Lemieux. Ottawa tried this in 2003, but had little success with Alexandre Daigle. Either way, Calgary will undoubtedly get a choice of Nathan MacKinnon, or Seth Jones. Having one of these players will make the future of the Flames organization that much brighter.

I'm starting to creep back into thinking we're getting pushed out of a top four pick again. As bad as we are, these SE teams have institutionally engrained sucking. Our worst season ever and they're just right there at the bottom.
