Kipper comes back next year and we have a shot at the playoffs.

but i can understand why he would want to retire with that butlersoft defence in front of him.

Dear Calgary Flames,

If you are going to lose. THAT is how you lose. From now on you lose that way. With a good effort, not that crap from the other night.

Sincerely

Buff

The last 3 or 4 games he has been everywhere.
I was at the last Edmonton game and he was an animal. Easily the best Flame on the ice.

I agree, he looked much stronger in the dirty areas and possessed the puck pretty well tonight. I think he's finally beginning to feel comfortable and play at game speed.

Butler was fine.

Sarich is what he is ... a 7th D. When we get Gio and Cundari in the lineup he doesn't dress.

Happy for Kipper. Happy Avalanche got a point tonight, happy for the young kids and look forward to seeing more play here shortly

Given that Smith is out, I would probably pull Babchuk and Carson from the lineup (although I thought Carson was good tonight) and play Cundari and Sarich in the bottom pairing slot.

From what I have read Cundari prides himself on playing with that physical edge like Sarich, and could probably learn a thing or two. If nothing else, Sarich is a true professional and has proven to be a good influence on younger defencemen.

I always think of how good the 3rd pairing of Brodie-Sarich was over the last several years.

Carson was a nice surprise tonight. Backlund, Brodie and Cervenka need to be re-signed.

Kipper looked like a different goalie tonight which was good to see. I can see him taking the brunt of the leadership of this team for the rest of the season. I would like that first over all pick but at the same time I would like to see Kipper go out with a few more wins.

I thought Cammalleri was fine tonight. Tanguay doesn't belong on this team, not because I hate him or anything like that. But he just is not a fit here anymore and you can see it plain as day on the ice. Hudler is so good with the puck every time he feels like playing it is so fun to watch.

Was it me or did Wideman have some extra jump in his step tonight, looked like the guy we saw in the first 15 games this year.

I want Sven up for the rest of the year. There's no pressure here anymore and it would benefit his game for next season getting some decent ice time.

Also, Stempniak seems to be snake bitten. He is in all the right places, plays well but just cannot seem to buy one. And Stajan has taken it upon himself to become a leader on this team and I like it. He has played well all season.

EDIT: Forgot about Horak but man does he look confident in his play out there. Got some decent minutes tonight too. Glad to see it.

Finally some effort. Deserved to possibly win especially with that performance from Kipper but the low shots is still concerning. Defensively so much better today. Saw some good things. Thought Horak had a great game and gaining more and more confidence. Carson didn't look out of place. Now let's bring up Baertschi and give him some big minutes.

Colorado got a point today so I guess that is good. We have been losing a ton but so has Colorado.

With the defensive unit we had that is a great result.

As much as has been made of the Flsmes failures with Iginla/kipper this Sharks group has been a huge disappointment. Should have at least made a finals.

Well said. Just came back from the game, Sharks were mauling the Flames outside of a few Flames spurts and some marginal play. This is likely the last time I get to see Kiprusoff live ( ) and he put on a show..... thank you Kipper for 10 years of steady, solid goaltending like he showed tonight. I'm gonna miss ya.

Other thoughts... Tanguay has totally mailed it in, I didn't even realized he was playing till he took a dumb penalty. Our team defense is worse then the Keenan era. Backlund is having a great season. And the SJSharks are where the Flames were 4 years ago... they're headed off a cliff. Flames fans have totally disappeared from SJ, used to be 10-15% Flames fans? I think there were 10-15 Flames fans total there tonight. Never seen such a low turnout.

Oh and just like the dark days, even though we suck, its fun to see our big 4th line bang some bodies. Steve Begin had that one great shift.

All in all, fun game. Kiprusoff's brilliant performance really summarizes his career with Calgary. Will be sad to see him go.

Best defensive effort of the season happened on the night we had 4 natural centres in the line up.... hmmm, maybe a coincidence? Yeah must be.

I was at the game and it wasn't the first time that I lost respect for them. They clearly don't understand the game of hockey and were booing even the most obvious of penalty calls against them.

But yeah, the Kipper booing was horrendous. Bunch of jerks that don't really understand hockey.
