How can you NOT be a proud Calgarian after listening to Mayor Nenshi's speech right now at Ralph Klein's memorial?

Klein put us on the world stage and we should forever be thankful for that.

I saw Ralph at the airport about 3 years ago. He was talking to somebody else and I stood there for a while just wanted to shake his hand. I never did because I wasn't patient enough to wait for Ralph to end his talk with that somebody.

Now I regretted it and I should've waited just a bit longer to be able to say I shook Ralph's hand one time.

For some reason that player is not working for me, I found another on Global Calgary if anyone else is having issues.

If there is a replay later and you missed Nenshi's speech and Mike Harris's speech they are both must watch.

That had to be the greatest tribute I have ever seen anyone get. Every speech was bang on and seemed to have something unique about it. This city, province and country has lost a truly great individual.

RIP Ralph. We will never forget you.

“On behalf of city council and Calgarians, I herby proclaim April 5, 2013 as Ralph Klein day.” - Naheed Nenshi

This needs to become a new provincial stat holiday. It would perfectly represent what Ralph left us...a booming economy, no debt and a bunch of Ralph bucks.
