Due to your inside knowledge you give me a lot of hope, but there was an article quoting his dad as saying he needed at least one more year. Then another article where johnny said his parents felt that way. I hope that was out of context or maybe an old quote or something

Is there a risk of rushing Johnny Goo if he turns pro next year? Has he developed as far as possible in college? Which is more important to his development now - less games played and putting on weight in the gym, or turning pro and increasing the quality of his competition/games played?

Pat Steinberg‏@Fan960Steinberg1m

We've got Boston College forward and #Flames prospect Johnny Gaudreau with us at 3:25 this afternoon.

Johnny Goo is a porn name, not a hockey player name

Edit: And with this nickname in a post, fotze quotes it and no joke/comment? Fotze...come on man

Is he really 5'9" now? According to elite prospects, he's up to the same height and 10 lb lighter than Cammalleri:

sounds like he hasn't decided if he's returning to college; wants to put on weight (obviously)

- Gaudreau undecided on what he will do for next season. "Weighing his options"

I'm hoping he goes pro and plays on the farm next season.

I'm guessing that "weighing his options" means that he's waiting to see whether he wins the Hobey Baker and waiting to see what Feaster can promise him. If Feaster will give him a shot with the big club (and, really, why not with the roster that we're going to have?), it might be worth foregoing another year at Boston College. Otherwise, he might as well try to win another NCAA Championship and Hobey Baker award, hit the gym, hang out with his brother, and pick up college girls for another year. I don't know what life is like in Utica, but I'm guessing it's not as good as life as the big man on campus at BC.

Come on up, Johnny!

We need you to remind these 30 year old has-beens what playing with passion looks like.

Not sure if the frozen four will be over with by the time we play the Oilers in the last meeting of the year, but I'd love for them to call him up just for that game if he's signed. Give him a chance to light up those babies and give them a taste of our future. Lol.. I'd just like to have some kind of highlight over the rest of these final games..

Let's hope he's tempted enough by Feaster's offer.

Yeah, I wasn't sure whether it had to be over with or not. If that's true then they should ink him asap if he's willing to make the jump.

Not that I am surprised based on the way Ari has been talking, but it certainly sounded like he was seriously considering going pro.

I have to admit I am a little torn....part of me is excited to see what he can do, but on the other hand worried about his size. And as much as Theo Fleury's obnoxiousness has always annoyed me, without it he wouldn't have been nearly as effective. And JG is a much more likeable guy, but I wonder if he can be as productive in the NHL without the dirty edge that Fleury had.

But if he does decide to go pro, I think that the org better make sure he as some 'protection' out there playing with him.

forget having "protection" out there with him surround him with skill like skinner in Carolina guys are going to get hit big deal welcome to the league. put him with players that can alow him not to risk himself by using his skill and chemistry with those playing with him

I wonder if burning a year of ELC by playing 6 NHL games this year would be part of the deal for him turning pro. Not saying it's a good idea but it's a sweetener to turn pro now

Edit: it would only make sense if the Flames were convinced he would play NHL full time next year, otherwise why start burning years. I don't see this happening

He's going to play at least one more year of college, I'm certain of that. Don't rush him.

I suspect winning/not winning the Hobey Baker award is going to impact his decision. If he doesn't get it this year I wouldn't be surprised to see him go back to BC for another year. If he wins it he really has nothing left to accomplish at that level.
