We just passed Florida for the worst goals against per game in the league.

Congratulations, men.

No question they are on a hot streak right now. But goaltending has been solid for the Oilers all season, as has the PP and PK. Hall is basically taking the team on his back the last while. Even at the end of the year, perhaps they might not be a playoff team but they are not 14th or 15th in the West bad. They are in the 8-12 range IMO. And frankly that's what I wanted to see. It's tiring being that bad for that long.

Four thoughts:

1) Poor MacDonald. Score not indicative of how he played.

2) Horak should stick full time

3) Yakupov is the type of player where the Oilers win 8 - 0 but he doesn't get a point "awwwww" but if they lose 5 - 1 and he gets the one goal "yaaaaay!"

4) Are we seeing what happens when the rest of our D have to chew up Bouwmeesters minutes against the top opposition? We will need a replacement at some point.

Also what happened with Jackman at the end, I missed what initially caused the whole thing??

A hot streak covers up a lot of warts.
So does playing the Flames twice in a row

I will be at the next game when the Flames visit the Sharks on Friday. A Sharks team that has won 5 in a row and (will) beat the Wild tonight to make it 6.

Pray for me.

I've been impressed by Dubnyk, I was surprised they seemed to be in the Bishop sweepstakes this afternoon.

Insurance?

Wow... Pat Steinberg just apologized to Devon Canada for forcing Mike Rogers to pick the "Hardest Working Flame" in that debacle.

The C of Red was pretty diluted tonight. Bev wasn't even there!

Bah, let 'em lose. This is going to be fun for me as I've never really been too interested in the entry drafts and such as we pick somewhere middle to late and I'll check out who we get after the fact.

This will definitely be the most interested I've ever been in a draft and I'm kind of getting into it.

Heck, I just might learn something!

Bishop would have been the backup for the future. Dubnyk would have started 55-60 games and Bishop the rest. Khabibulin is a UFA and is already 40+ years old. Khabibulin has good numbers in his starts this year and has stole a few games but can probably only play 15-20 games in a season. He gets injured constantly after a few starts because of his back. Wouldn't be surprised if he retires this offseason. Bishop would have been the backup for the future in a 55-27 games played type scenario like I said.

Well, that was grim. They're mailing it in.

McGrattan actually looked decent, as did Horak.

Bring up some more youth.

If Giordano hasn't bounced back to good Giordano by game 30 next season I hope they trade his ass.

Over-reactions that can be seen in this thread is the reason why owners were afraid to pull the plug on this team two-three years ago.

Teams go through cycles, once the window on one group of players closes you need to be bad (and draft well) before you can be good again.

We lost a couple of games and people are jumping off the bridge. Boohoo, how do you think top teams got their top players? Gotta endure few stinkers along the road. So what?
