Good, glad someone isn't mired in the deep depression this team is trying to get out from under. Backlund okay as well? Hoping Sven gets the nod here for the rest of the season, could care less about the calder stuff.

If there's one thing I've learned that Feaster isn't a complete and utter bungler at, it's drafting. How much of that is due to Goulet and Weisbrod, I don't know, but he's done quite well in his last two.

He just shouldn't be allowed to trade or sign anyone, ever.

Looks like the usual Horak. Working hard, trying to make stuff happen. He stands out amongst his linemates because of his effort IMO.

It's a nice feeling knowing that a bunch of these guys can simply walk away at the end of the year and won't be a part of the problem next year.

Cervenka, Roman » C CGY 27 $3,775,000 2013 (UFA)
Babchuk, Anton » D CGY 28 $2,500,000 2013 (UFA)
McGrattan, Brian » R CGY 31 $600,000 2013 (UFA)
MacDonald, Joey » G CGY 33 $550,000 2013 (UFA)
Begin, Steve » L CGY 34 $525,000 2013 (UFA)

Going to be a lot of spaces open for kids on this team next year.

I'll be so angry if the Oilers make the playoffs because of these last two wins against us.

Horak, Baertschi, Bouma and I'm hoping Gaudreau should be on the opening night roster next year.

Don't think they'll make the playoffs but it's a good step.

The Flames need to start moving drafted players into the line up, or guys they've developed. Brodie and Backlund... but you want atleast 6 guys next year.. then more and make is consistent like the Sharks, Kings etc.

Cervenka looks like has nhl hands, his shot is good and he can keep plays alive.

but he is way to slow and easily pushed around. he could be usefull on the pp but 5v5 he is a liability.

No offense, but I don't understand your concerns over drafting if you envision this being a long haul rebuild. Lottery picks are a gimme. Hell, Bob Mckenzie's TSN list would probably suffice as an extensive scouting report. lol.

Yep, I figured he must have got hit so hard by the Flames player that the gap in his front teeth got pushed together.

There's more to a draft than the first round.

Unless you're the Oilers.

Yup, whoever the Flames draft in that 1-3 spot should make the jump right away too. That's exciting.

I would rather keep Begin/McGrattan than Jackman. Both fill a role. Jackman does absolutely nothing.

Wotherspoon had another two points tonight, now has 6 points (2g, 4a) in 6 games in the WHL playoffs.

I'd keep Cervenka for sure. A regular offseason plus a full training camp with the NHL experience he gained will do him good.

I would keep Begin too, good leadership guy, plays with intensity
