Looks as awful as the first trailer. Honestly, how can anyone be excited for this movie, it looks like absolute dog s***.
I've seen better CGI zombies in a PS2 Resident Evil game.
Brad Pitt, I love you man, but come on.
I'm extremely leery too. That being said, I will watch it - if it ends up miraculously getting good reviews, in theatres, and otherwise, rental when it comes out.
My main issue with it is that there is no need for it to have that title. It doesn't have anything to do with the book and is just using it for name recognition, which doesn't work when the only people who that would entice to see it are big enough fanboys to be instantly turned off by the hollywood-izing of the whole thing. People should really read the book. Or listen to it (abridged):
Not impressed, huge potential for cheese here. Then again, thought the same thing about First Class and that was amazing. I'll wait until the reviews. It'll take some good reviews to get me to see this one after how bad Origins was.
Yes. I love Pitch Black and enjoyed Chronicles of Riddick. Looking forward to this.
Really enjoyed Pitch Black but i was blown away by Chronicles of Riddick when i wasn't expecting to be. I loved the world they created in the movie and thought the story and action were amazing, it truly is one of my favorite movies, up there with the likes of Pulp Fiction and Training Day.
......just to add my two cents, i freaking hate trailers and try to avoid them as much as possible. They usually give away too much of the movies plot or show you all the best action sequences. As a society we really don't need all of the information immediately, it's ok to let yourself be surprised once and a while, you know?
The film is actually based on the 2007 short film “Jay and Seth Vs. The Apocalypse”, starring Rogen and Baruchel alone in a room together, driving each other crazy. And it’s hilarious:
I watched the Depalma one recently, and some of it doesn't hold up very well. It's still good and creepy, but I don't think this is a classic that can't be re-visited and given a new look.
Chloe Grace Moretz has some acting chops and I think she'll do good here. Directed by Kimberly Peirce whose best work was Boys Don't Cry. Hasn't done a lot since.
I think this has a chance at being pretty damn good and not your average churned out remake like Texas Chainsaw, Elm Street or Friday 13th.
Looks pretty cool. Despite most knowing the story to Carrie, I'm still always surprised to see a trailer that's basically a shot-by-shot outline of the whole film.
There was a pretty interesting podcast from CBC called "Under the Influence" on spoilers. Turns out people prefer trailers that spoil things opposed to trailers that leave more behind the curtain. They used Cast Away as the example where the initial trailers fared much worse than the updated ones.
Yes, spoiler tags for Cast Away.
Spoiler!
audiences seemed to react much more positively to the updated trailer showing him getting off the island, instead of the original trailers that just showed him marooned. Shame really, as the original trailer was awesome imo.
Will update this post when I can find a video link. This is my most anticipated movie of probably all time. District 9 is in my top 3 for movies, and with Elysium having one of my fav. actors Matt Damon, I expect great things.
Now HD and English.
