Has he indicated that he intends to go back to BC next season?

in the past, yes. His brother comes to BC in the fall and IIRC Johnny has said that he wants to play with him. Was a while ago though, who knows if his plans have changed.

There was a story from his hometown paper (IIRC) a while ago where his father said the Flames have tried to sway his opinion, but his plan is to return to BC next season.
His brother, Matthew, is also committed to BC, starting next year. I believe he doesn't have Johnny's skill (but does have his size), so he might not be a starter on the team. Matthew had 16 points in 50 games in the USHL this season (the same league where Johnny had 72 in 60 before he was drafted).
Also, the BC coach has had a few health problems this year (and became the winningest coach in NCAA hockey history), so there's a chance he could retire. If he does, that could change Johnny's desire to return for his junior year.
I'm sure the Flames will do everything they can to convince him to go pro next year.

Just from that article, it really has to be between Gaudreau and Hartzell right? Gaudreau has better stats in fewer games than LeBlanc.

Wait... Eric Hartzell is a finalist for the Hobey Baker as an unsigned, undrafted goalie. We immediately must add him to our list of "best goalies not currently playing in the NHL" team. Get er' done Jay!!

LeBlanc is unsigned and undrafted too, would love to see the Flames land him.

It would be great if Hanowski could twist his arm and convince him to sign with the Flames.

I think Arnold's two-way game is great, and he is already NHL sized easily, but another year to increase his offensive acumen might benefit him. He will probably get more of an opportunity in that role in BC than on the Heat anyways, I would think, though I think he is definitely ready to contribute in the AHL right away.

I believe in the Jays.

Was kind of hoping we could sign Arnold this year. I always expected Gaudreau to stick around campus at least one more year so that he could play with his brother and develop more physically but I thought Arnold might sign get a head start on his pro-career.
Makes me a little nervious to see one of our guys go into his senior year.

This was something I was hoping they'd address in the new CBA. it's nice to have NCAA prospects as team property for 4 years if they decide to finish their degree, but after their senior year, you only have until the summer to get them under contract. So if they wait an extra couple months they can sign with whoever they want. You should have their rights for 4 years throughout University, plus an additional year if they decide to finish all four years. Not saying Gaudreau would be complete ###### like Schultz, but there is definitely less security when it comes to drafting college players. If your a highly touted senior player drafted by the Islanders, what would be more advantageous, signing with NYI the day after graduation, or wait a few months and sign with Pittsburgh, considering they both offer identical ELC deals? I just hope Ramage, Gaudreau, Arnold, Cundari, Agostino, etc. have some loyalty to the team that they are currently propert of.

Maybe just make them go back in the draft like CHL players.
