I don't think it's a slam dunk for New York here.
Brassard hasn't been the same since that injury in his rookie season. 2 40 point season and only 18 in 34 this year.
Moore was a 1st round pick but has yet to put it together and Columbus has plenty of young blueliners.
Dorsett is interchangeable.

Good trade for both, but I tend to give the advantage to New York right now.
Didn't think we would get something like this today, but happily surprised. Slow day has turned around pretty quickly, some significant deals going down.

To all those people saying that the Flames only needed to "re-tool" for the past 3 years and then erroneously invenedt trades where we send our middling players and garbage for better players... this is how you actually re-tool.

I guess I don't value what NYR got in return here like you do.

If Gaborik can stay healthy it is a good move for CLB but that is a big questionable if.
Bold move.
Quite the handful of grinders going back to the Rangers.
Brassard is the piece i like the most.

I would consider this a fast rebuild with 3 1st rounds till coming up.
Good Job Columbus.

No multiple first rounders is a staple of a rebuild, it's normal. Again this franchise is not smarter than any other franchise.

Gaborik has been better over the course of the contract. Brassard has not lived up to draft status, Dorsett is a 4th liner, and Moore is a decent prospect
I would rather have the first and the cap space.

Columbus managed to grab an excellent hockey player without giving up any of their 3 firsts. I call that a win for them. Moore was expendable with their solid depth on D (Johnson, Wis, Tyutin, Nikitin), Gaborik is a much better player than Brassard, and Dorsett is replaceable, although I really liked him from his time with the Tigers.
Even if they don't make the playoffs, that added a valuable piece and get to pick 3 times this year.

Brassard would be better than any center we have had for the past 3 years, and better than Ryan O'Reilly.

I don't think so either, but that poster was obviously comparing our 2 trades to this.
Gaborik had a NMC too.

Good move for both sides. Rangers get depth and a decent prospect in Moore plus cap flexibility.
Columbus adds a scoring threat for the spare parts on their team. They've slowly been rising up and have taken some huge steps forward this season. Hope to see them make some noise in the playoffs.

He's never hit 50 points, and been scratched by I think every coach he's had.
Brassard isnt better than Backlund, never mind ROR.

there is no comparison
