Sucks that it looks like Iginla and Bouwmeester really limited the return on what we got, especially Iginla. TSN just re-hashed this in our faces. I would have loved that Boston deal instead...

The Islanders comparisons were rough.

Though it's a decent comparison... especially when we could be drafting our "Tavares" this year.

Let's just hope we have more prospects pan out than the Isles did over the past few years.

Onrait is even funnier in person. Not quite as over the top.

Met him a couple months ago here on PEI for a charity function. He was hammered.

Gene Principe is standing in front of the Westin, somebody downtown go and slug him!

Someone already tried to run Principe over... the driver likely realized the camera was rolling.

Slept in and now I'm glad I did. Absolutely nothing has happened. Love seeing the talking heads try and squeeze something from nothing.

Kipper staying a Calgary Flame. Don't think he should retire though.

Terrible comparison.

Issue with Islanders is they spend money below the cap floor and never added veterans to their young talent.

Leafs are really the best comparison for a team that should have rebuilt sooner and never took their medicine.

Can't wait until the first plug for a 7th rounder trade goes down and receives as much scrutiny and analysis as the Iginla trade..

So Kipper won't accept a trade, and will retire at the end of the season? He doesn't have a NTC, and Calgary was within their full right to trade him, but he basically gave himself a NTC. What a jerk and totally hurting the Flames cashing in before losing an asset for nothing

Sigh... only Calgary could have a trade vetoed by a player with no ntc. I'm looking forward to a new group of players whose focus is more on winning than comfort.

Me too, for the last 6 years Ive woke up at 6 am. I believe some of the western general managers aren't even awake at that time. I couldn't handle TSN trying to improvise crap from their insiders that early anymore.

Agreed, it's a crappy thing for Kipper to do....for a guy that was a third stringer in SJ on the verge of being a nobody, Calgary gave him a shot and a tonne of dough to boot....not happy with this news, wanted to see us get something for him.

The last half hour before the deadline and maybe 10 minutes afterwards is really all you need to tune in for.

The rest is artificial hype.

Unless you have nothing else to do, which is fine.
