I'm more looking forward to the draft at this point.

Yeah, but as a Flames fan, how can you not?

3 first rounders in whats said to be a deep draft... And 1 of those picks could be a #1... With a bit o' luck and poor hockey?

I just wish we werent in this position... 4 years of "hard to cheer for hockey" is bullocks.

well I guess the Flames keep these forums hopping anyway. Always cheer for a flames win, we'll be back.

I LOVED the Darryl Sutter years of being a buyer.

"We are standing pat. I like this team, and don't see a need to upgrade at any position." We would all get a bit disappointed...

Then BAM!

"Flames made a blockbuster trade..."

Those were exciting times. Way more exciting to be a buyer, than a seller. I hope the selling years are short, and the Flames can once again be exciting (but very prudent) buyers at the deadlines to come down the road.

Well if you're a big fan of the draft like me then it is quite exciting to be a seller.

Have to admit I'm loving the idea of 3 or more first rounders.

Depends entirely on the competance of the GM...For Chicago, Stan Bowman seems to make moves so insignificant, that it isn't even worth faxing in the paperwork to the league

Being a 'buyer' equates to adding a piece(s) to make your team better, to challenge for a championship. Calgary is not this.

Being a 'seller' is asset management for teams who have intellectual honesty about what their team really is. Calgary has finally come to terms with reality.

I'd rather be in the first group but it is what it is. I'm looking forward to see what else transpires prior to the deadline but more importantly what happens at the draft this summer.

Buyer is much more exciting. Hoping your team gets what it needs to push to the next level in the playoffs is exciting. Plus you are more engaged about what other teams are doing as that's the competition on the trade market, but also for the remainder of the season and then playoffs.

Being a seller you just hope the team is gutting the team enough, and getting quality future assets in return. I don't really care what other teams are doing for their roster all that much.

Better to be a buyer... but I'm definitely looking forward more to the draft this year than previous years.

Having a bad team that is accumulating pieces to become better in the future is a lot more fun for me than having a somewhat less bad team with little reason to have hope for the future.

Lol that was a good day, thinking Iggy finally has his centre, the flames are the strongest they've ever been. Winning against Philly.
