Default Reto Berra At The 2012 World Championships

If you guys have HOURS to kill here are 3 of Berra's games at the 2012 IIHF World Championships. They are full games so you can look for trends and position and just a general feel of how he looks. Do you like what you see?

Switzerland-Kazakhstan

Finland-Switzerland

Switerland-Slovakia

Work on the paper; the international ice is giving me a headache already.

Seems like the best goalie outside of the NHL to me other than Ramo

There are highlight reels right after the period, right before they show the ice. Lots of good goalie highlights. I recommend watching the Slovakia-Switzerland game, good action. There were some NHLers on the Slovakia team, Chara and Hossa from what I saw.

Looks to me like Berra has good potential, kept it close 1-0 against some NHL stars.

Noticed he gets out of position a lot. But because he is so big and agile he can get back Hasek style to make a good save attempt. Maybe smaller ice will help him there. Glove hand is quick. Not being negative here at all, but I don't really want to see him in many shootouts, seems like he bites on the first move. But again, his size helps him there. And he is quite flexible.

Looks like he might have a tendency to go down too fast, quite a bit like Karlsson. Might be a serviceable backup next year. I hope we're not pinning all our hopes on this guy, Jay Feaster.

This is clearly not the expectation of the Flames organisation. With the high number of goaltenders and goaltending prospects in the system, Feaster is obviously loading up with the hope of landing a quality goalie, without an unqualified commitment to any one player. It's a good strategy.

i'll leave it to the flames scouts and management to spend the time on what they're paid to do to have watched and analyzed these videos.

As a fan, i will simply judge the results of the player when they hit the NHL
