If we get anything over a third for Kipper I will do a backflip*. I think some of you guys are a wee bit out to lunch on the expected return.

*will not actually do a backflip

Leafs signed MacIntyre to an NHL deal (was on an AHL contract only).
Suggests to me that Scrivens might be the guy out here, with MacIntyre signed as a last resort callup if an injury hits.

Scrivens + Komisarek (cap dump) + 3rd round pick for Kiprusoff?

Or the flames add an asset on their side (scoring forward/depth defence) and that pick is upgraded?

I'm fairly certain Kipper's secret plan is to sewer any trade value he had this season with poor play (last night was his piece de resistance) so that he gets to stay and can play out the end of his career here. I guess I'm not the only one that thinks moving sucks. I don't mind the guy sticking around, I really doubt we'd get anything useful for him, and he's the last piece of nostalgia I have left.

I'd be okay with taking a cap dump like Komisarek, he's only on the books for another year after this and the Flames will suck anyways. Flames need some size on the back end anyways. You could probably see pairings of Gio/Cundari - Wideman/Brodie - Komisarek/Breen next season.

Scrivens is actually not bad moving forward. Big goalie from Alberta who has always posted respectable numbers wherever he's played, he was putting up John Gillies type numbers in college. He can battle with Ramo and Berra next year.

An ingenious plan. More so than playing extremely well, and pushing this team into a playoff position again and being guaranteed to stay.

As it turns out, not only is Kipper a better goaltender than every CP member and Jay Feaster, he's also a better judge of a rosters talent. He knew it wasn't happening.

The Komisarek part requires a higher pick bundled IMO

Tell Toronto and the Flames to go pound sand Kipper.
Kipper has earned the right to stay if he chooses to do so. If he has to let some softie's in to prove his point so be it.
If he retires and the Flames get nothing so be it he has been a legend for Calgary.
Now watch the snobbish management hold a grudge and not retire his #34.

Just like #14.

Scott Cruickshank@CruickshankCH50s

If you're wondering, G Miikka Kiprusoff is on the ice for practice.

I think we can forget about Schrivens/Reimer, as it looks like the euro tandem is the next step for the flames

I understand the risk in acquiring Kipper. But in following twitter and reading this forum, I seem to be the only one on this planet who still thinks Kipper has a lot left in the tank.

I'm not trying to say that he hasn't been bad this year, I just think his play is a result of other factors.

I think any team that picks up a committed Kipper, greatly improves their playoff chances.

He is only a year removed from being the sole reason we got a crappy draft pick

If the Flames are rebuilding why keep a 37 year old goalie, who could retire at the end of the season.

If the Flames can obtain a draft pick.... I would move him

I agree, it just seems that his perceived value is that of Andre Trefilov, when I still think he is elite.

Randy Sportak ‏@SUNRandySportak 34s #flames Kiprusoff refused to talk about whether he's talked to Maple Leafs. Addressed his sub-standard play last 2 games.

For some reason, not sure why I think Komisarek will turn it around. He's a big body, don't know enough about him to know if he's a mean pryk or not, but if so, that's exactly what the Flames need. If he's part of the deal, Calgary would definetly get more in return. Do it.

I long for the day when I see tweets like: "Chatted with Kipper, and he talked about his subpar play. I didn't bother asking him about the trade stuff, since I already know he can't discuss it with me."
