Not a great return to be honest. Good to take the focus off of Feaster

Iginla and Bouwmeester deals are now painted in a better light to those who threw hissy fits over the returns.
Iginla and Bouwmeester, while better than Jagr/Roy, are not significantly so.
For those saying "not a great return", the market bares it's own value. This is what rentals/deadline acquisitions are worth this season.

Not really. It shows that the propsal from Boston for Iggy was very good. I really wish he had just picked Boston.

Exactly. Just because this is a "sellers market" doesn't mean that GMs are supposed to just abandon reason and sell the farm simply because there isn't a lot talent available.
In my opinion coming out of the trade deadline with loads of cap space and two more first rounders is a pretty good situation.

Jagr has better numbers Iggy has better intangibles
Flames did better return wise but there are lots of factors. Dallas got something when they would have lost him for free

I think both prospects from the Iggy trade are far better than what Dallas got here.

If this return is true for Jagr, then Feaster probably deserves some apologies from the overreacting group (myself included for the Bouwmeester trade).
We'll have to face it, top prospects are not moved unless it's a Richard/Carter like deal and 1st round picks hold a lot of value even in the 20s.

well the crowd who thinks our deals have been terrible are seeing some reality now...market is the market. People freaking out that Jagr got more than Iggy before we even know the deal, that is blowing things out of proportion.
Flames are the only team to get a 1st let alone 2

Maybe, but the 2 prospects that the flames could have gotten from Boston if Iggy said yes were way better than anything from Pitt, St.Louis or what Dallas got.
Looks like Boston would have overpaid for Iggy.

Dallas has to be happy with the return since they just signed Jagr as a FA

Was there ever a confirmation on that 1st round pick being conditional or not?

If you think about it, top prospects are probably the most important they've ever been in the NHL, same with 1st round picks. The reality is, with the cap, you always need the top prospects pushing to come in on cheap entry level contracts in order to build a winning team. Gone are the days when you can load up on UFA's (ie. like the Rangers or the Avs of yesteryear).
