I like Bouwmeester, very good d-man that can play a lot of minutes. But his cap hit was huge, and he lacks emotion. I think one of the BIG problems with the Flames is their lack of emotion. Getting the cap room and a 1st is a good deal in my books.

Here is hoping the Blues make the playoffs this year.

Again, we don't get 3 first rounders this year if St. Louis misses the playoffs.

I'm starting to agree with whichever poster said that Feaster doesn't know how to negotiate or play hardball.

He said he hasn't been intellectually honest the last two years. I don't hate these two deals but this guy is totally inept and needs to be fired. He has only been here for two years and just admitted he didn't do what he set out to during that whole time period. So what positive has he done within the context of building a strong team based on his definition?

He said straight out that it's on him that the Flames are where they are. He made some bold statements, and failed to deliver. He said he wasn't intellectually honest and that's entirely on him.

Basically acknowledged that it's his fault that it took this long to rebuild because he truly did believe the answers were "in the room".

Feaster, a lawyer, does not know what intellectual honesty means.

Its a term reserved for academia

Taking pride in an iron man streak when you havent played a single playoff game is about as dumb as showing up to a party with a BISP

Would appreciate a quick summary of Feaster's comments in the Bouw trade, comparing it to the Iggy deal and what Bouw said taking accountability.

I guess when Bouwmeester retires it may be his only accomplishment worth telling his kids about?

It's fine that Feaster admits his mistakes, but I'd rather a GM doesn't make those mistakes in the first place

Plus, comparing Bouwmeester and Iginla's situations is weaksauce.

Took responsibility after for the whole situation, sure (spin spin spin)...but calling the process with "Bouwmeester and his agent a treat to work with in light of Jarome and situation" and "we're never going to do that again" in reference to the list that Iginla had the full control over.

Just shut up about it if you have nothing better to say, rather then bring it up again and compare that loser Bouwmeester to Iginla. Between that and cleaning his teeth during the Iginla tribute, complete disrespect for Jarome.

Feaster is at least taking responsibility. I did not hear the slight against Iggy, so I will not comment on that, but I am at least appeased by his admission of being in the wrong in the last two years. The past is past, at least we are decisively moving in a new direction.

That said, I think it is in Calgary's best interest to find at least a new GM to navigate the draft and build the new Flames.
