Roy and Bozak both get 5-year $25M deals and we would have to add another player just to get to the floor.

Call me illogical, but if all we're getting back is a 3rd rounder, I'd rather Kiprusoff go walk gracefully in the sunset of retirement rather then be dealt for some mid-round pick. Just really sucks to see.

Low probability of a 3rd rounder doesn't increase our success in the future, enough to watch TML have the amount of success they'll get with kipper in the playoffs.

The fact that you are trying to pass Kevin Lowe off as a genius to justify your wildly overinflated opinion of what we could hope to get back for Kiprusoff says all I really need to know about the merits of continuing this discussion with you.
Fortunately, you have a built in excuse. If a trade happens and we inevitably get less than you think is warranted, you can simply blame Feaster rather than accept your expectations were not realistic.

Agreed with this. If the package does not have a 'wow' factor, keep our franchise goalie where he is.

Show me where I call Kevin Lowe a genius. Or did I dream the Oilers going to the Stanley Cup finals in 2006? Did Kevin Lowe not trade for Chris Pronger, Mike Peca, Jaroslav Spacek, and Dwayne Roloson? Could've sworn that actually happened. Maybe it happened on Earth-2.

Does it really bother you that a team in the east might win a round?
Reinhart was picked in the 3rd round. Gaudreau was picked in the 4th. Would you rather the flames not have a chance at those kind of prospects?

Understand the logic and loyalty, but do you honestly think Kipper wants to be a part of this? He's leaving one way or another.

It sort of is; a 3rd round pick sucks, but if that's all they can get for him, they have to do it. A 3rd round pick buys 5.8M in cap space. Not doing that deal is irresponsible. Which is right up Feaster's alley, but whatever.

I would trade kipper for an unconditional 2nd with a 2014 low pick like a 4th or 5th added if he plays next year.
I wouldnt trade him for less than a second.
