I really think the Flames are going to play better as soon as they get rid of most of the veterans.

Should this thread have a poll?
Who would you pick if the Flames got first over all?

I've been slowly converting to the Jones club as of late.

Finally been paying attention to the guy and he's really impressed me. You can just see from watching him even a period that he's an NHL stud in the making, if not already.

However, I'd probably still end up going with MacKinnon for the Flames, especially since I think Feaster's trying to address D and goaltending via the Iginla trade.

Mckinnon or Barkov. Centers don't grow on trees apparently.

With the Iginla trade officially signaling that we've given up on the season, we better be giving our prospects a chance to get some NHL icetime over the next few weeks. That shouldn't hurt our chances of getting a top 4 pick.

More important is more players need to be heading out the door. Sven etc up toot sweet. Get on with the rebuild starting ASAP.

At least it won't be too long until we get our next franchise player. Hoping for MacKinnon or Drouin

*Bumped.

Philadelphia beats Boston 3-1, now 1 point ahead of us I believe.

That puts us in 28th, and in the top 3! Hello McKinnon/Drouin.

I understand people being excited over a top pick, but to cheer for it is disgusting.

While i understand this line of thinking, I disagree. We know this team isn't going anywhere this year. Chances of us making the playoffs are slim, let alone win the cup. The more we lose, the higher chance we have of bringing in a impact player that will make this team better in the long run.

I cheer for losses now, so that we can get more wins later.

What else can we be upbeat about when it comes to this team?

It's apparent that most of the players have already resigned to the fact that they're not going to the post season.

I certainly will not cheer for losses in games individually, because as a fan it's impossible to. But if/when we do lose, I certainly won't be upset, knowing the implications.

I understand that the more losses = higher pick and a better future most likely. I still cheer for Flames wins but if they lose I don't get upset, I'd rather not be like Oiler and avalanche fans where they get excited with losses.

I cheer for individual players to do well especially backlund and brodie. I still love wins, but I'm indifferent about losses because I know we could get a good pick out of it. Basically I don't mind if we try hard and lose, but I hate when I watch and they give up halfway through and quit, can't stand that.

Watching this team play, you don't need to cheer for losses. This team wasn't good enough to begin with and most of the players just seem to have quit. I just don't want anyone to get hurt because I'd hate to have a trade fall through because of an injury

Amazing how long this shortened season has dragged out.
