Just looked at it again, definitely in the numbers, in a very dangerous location (~4 ft from end boards) and Bailey never had the puck, with the puck bouncing away from both players. Good call by the ref's I think.

I hate to say this, but Cooke has been incredible on the PK.

They both attempted to make contact and Kunitz won. The Islanders player was the one who stopped and attempted contact first.
There is not a chance he'll get suspended.

I don't think Kunitz will be suspended, but he definitely deserved the penalty.

I wonder, if instead of having a game day thread (GTD) for Iggy, we should instead label it as "TIG"
The Iginla Games.

Iggy (understandably) looked a little off in the 1st, but had a decent 2nd. One great shift where he set up Neal for a tap in, but Neal couldn't finish it.

Watch the Isles feed, it's much more respectable (from years and years of humility I assume?).

I haven't watched them for a while. Do they still have the pleasingly plump guy along with Terry Crisp. That was the most ill prepared team I can ever remember. The only Flames player they knew was Iginla.

Double meaning too. It's one of his middle names.

It's just symptomatic of the whole franchise. You'll never hear an organization pat themselves on the back as much as the Penguins do. From their management and players, right down to their guido fans.

There has been a tonne of Iginla talk on the Isles feed. They've actually been really good overall for the broadcast, I can't complain at all.
Was pretty funny when the fans were boo-ing after the Kunitz call, and the announcers couldn't believe it. "I can't believe they have a problem with the call, after all the calls that have gone their way over the years!"
Funny stuff.

Watching it again, he puts his shoulder into the back of Bailey's arm. Definitely not in the numbers. Kunitz moved his body laterally (and so did Bailey) like he was preparing to collide shoulder to shoulder, and because Bailey had a step on him Kunitz caught him almost on the outside of the shoulder blade.
Certainly wasn't dirty, in my eyes anyway. And because they both braced for the contact and leaned into each other, I don't think it should have been a call at all. Not interference (according to precedent), and it didn't fall within the lines of a boarding call either. I don't see how Kunitz intended to put Bailey into the boards, I saw him trying to jar him away from his line to the puck.
