considering most are saying to do it because they believe it will be a top 10 pick it makes sense they want it. It has nothing to do with Smid.

Jaybo will net a 1st and a good prospect. If Feaster is smart, which he isn't, he would eat 1-2m of his cap hit to net an even bigger return. We're rebuilding for the next while anyways, so we won't need that cap space.

Jaybo at 5m a season will get us a monster return. 1st, elite level prospect and a young NHL ready player.

Hell, we'd probably be able to get Couturier++ for him.

No offence but how the hell are you a Flames fan with a handle like that?

Oh, so I think Alex Burrows is an amazing hockey player, a true enforcer who epitomizes how the game should be played, and all of a sudden I'm not a real Flames fan? Hogwash.

Hey man, whatever floats your boat, I just think that's strange.

Back on topic, I really don't think Bouw will be headed to Edmonton. They'd have to overpay to get him and the optics wouldn't look good. This isn't Staios and at the end of the day they are our rival.

I think a more likely place for him to land is Detroit. They need to fill that void since Lidstrom left(not that I'm comparing Bouw to Lidstrom) and they have prospect depth. I'd love to trade him to Philly but I don't know if they think they'll make the dance this year so they might not be willing to part with their 1st and top prospect.

The Wings also have the cap space, which will be a major obstacle in several other destinations (including the Flyers).

Not thanking you because I agree, but that was absolutely hilarious.

Undersized and not the best skater are definite red flags. Believe Detroit could put forward a better prospect than Rattie (Nyquist/Tatar). StL would have to up the ante but if they aren't willing to I'd check elsewhere. That being said, their 1st would be mid first round which might be intriguing.

I would LOVE to get Berglund out of St.Louis, I'm not sold on Schwartz, definitely don't want Rattie. If you get Berglund, no need for the first.

I doubt Edmonton is dumb enough to try and make a pitch for Bouw using their first. This is their opportunity to finally draft a defenceman, and they're chances of making the playoffs are still pretty slim.

We need guys 20 - 24, big, fast, and who play centre or defence. Centers can play wing, wingers aren't all that good at centre. Just look how this year has gone.

Question is why would Berglund be traded by St.Louis? Jaden has played a limited amount of minutes right now, hes not playing a top 9 role, but if you watched him closely on Sunday, hes going to be a good player. He might be small, but he has the speed, and strength to protect the puck, which most of our small players cannot do.

We need to add guys that can be strong along the boards, cycle, but also have the skill to bring the puck from the boards into the slot and create chances.

Its going to be very hard to pry a top center from any team for Jay Bouwmeester. Thats why we need to add 1st round picks to these deals, and we can draft our #1 center on June 28th with our top 4 pick hopefully.

Load up on picks, and good young prospects, center help is on the way June 28th 2013 no doubt about that.

If Bouwmeester waives to go to EDM, any respect I had for him is lost. Not just because of the Oilers, and don't care if its his own town, he can write his own ticket, and because he too got hoodwinked by Lowe like so many others did before, and seems like a much more intelligent guy than that, especially if the desire is to go to a contender.

But as this is all originating on the cesspool of HF, won't put any more stock in it.

Haha, so the Oilers are going to end up worse than the Flames by the end of they year? I was operating under the guise that the Oiler's had finally turned the corner and that getting Bouwmeester was what your team needed. An that your First round pick was likely going to be close to 10-17 range.

That's what it's going to take though. If the Oilers were giving us their 1st this year for Bouwmeester straight up, I'd take it in a hearbeat.

Mind you, getting the biggest loser in the league might not even help all that much. I don't doubt his loser status doesn't bring his value down some, even though he's been much better this year than last.
Bouwmeester isn't worth a 1st Rounder from the freaking Edmonton Oilers, let's be real. Their last 3 first rounders were #1 overall picks, but I guess there is a chance with the idiots running the team.

The Flames should get a 1st and a decent prospect elsewhere.
