Great guy who always had time for the public. Met him a few times and enjoyed the interactions immensely. Was likely a Liberal in Conservative clothing Lol

A moment of silence for Klein at tonight's game. Well done, Flames.

He made me laugh, one time he asked where I was from, I said "oh, I'm one of those eastern bums and creeps Ralph" He responded very quickly : f'k off back home then with a grin, this was in front of two cabinet guys and Frank King

I guess any self-respecting rancher would have shot, shovelled and shut up, but he didn't do that.

This is why I loved Ralph, right or wrong...
"On his way home from dinner late one night in December 2001, Klein asked his driver to take him to an Edmonton homeless shelter, where it was reported he yelled at people staying there to get jobs before throwing money on the floor and leaving. At first, Klein denied accusations he was drunk, but later told a news conference of the heavy toll alcohol was taking on his health and vowed to quit drinking."

Only an idiot would consider that right. I have different views than most about Klein than those here and I will respect his memory by not getting into that, but to glorify this as being a positive incident would be asinine at best. The guy got drunk and acted like an ass to homeless people.

Klein's infamous visit to a homeless shelter while drunk will continue to live in our hearts and our minds. For him to yell at homeless people to get jobs, while throwing money on the floor - raw emotion fueled by a little liquid courage.
He was blunt. He was honest. His responses weren't measured. That's what I like about Ralph. He was just a normal, regular guy who shooted straight from the hip.
The Nenshi equivalent of this Ralph Klein Episode?
Nenshi could crash a UDI / Homebuilders Meeting and yell at the decision makers in the room to start building more multi-family in Inner City Communities. Leaves room and starts debating P3 Funding Formula's with the Building Janitor.

To play devils advocate here...I remember hearing that the employment rate in Alberta was as close to 0% as it could be. They could not fill jobs anywhere.
They interviewed the guy that Ralph yelled at, 10 years later. He used the incident to turn his life around. While his tactics were not right, he was human...and that is why he was loved.

The post was just showing his presonality. The original post said for right or wrong.
So in typical Klein fashion I will ask you to go and #### yourself.

So will the CBC be making a TV movie about him like all "great Canadian heroes"?
RIP Ralph!

Cool story bro. This is a thread about his death and the memories you have of him and that was one of them. No need to be unclassy and turn this into an argument.
