Meh, that guy is more interested in Blue Jays spring training than hockey anyway.
They should just have Steinberg on for 24 hours a day. Or bring back Peter Loubardias.

Said this in the other thread, but loved the Iginla PC. The guy's a pro all the way... proud he was the icon of this team so long. Best of luck Jarome and hope to see you back with the Flames one day.... one way or another.

I irrationally infer that Cammy giving the pencils to Gio to "hold on to for awhile" means that Cammy plans to be out of here soon as well.

no one should wear the C for the rest of this season. see who still competes the hardest when the Flames have nothing left to play for and give it to them in September

Couldn't agree more. Selecting a new captain this year is pointless. Or even to start next season. Let a new one emerge naturally.

What did King say in his speech to the masses?

The Ken King interview was particularly interesting.
-Says that they realized that the team needs significant changes and a new direction. Says that Feaster avoids the rebuild label because people in Western Canada think of it as the Oilers template, they don't want to 'wander in the desert for years'
-Indicated that he expects several moves to be made at the deadline and more to be made at the draft
-Noted that the team isn't anywhere close to where it wants to be
-Characterizes the organization and Feaster as an aggressive group that is going to seek out opportunities to improve the team like a 'heat-seeking missile'
I would say that the management of the team has only just realized that the team is in the dire straits that they are. As cavalier as the statements he makes are, I didn't get the impression that they think it will be a quick fix, but I also don't see them doing a St. Louis type rebuild that takes the better part of a decade and a ton of patience (which makes sense to me since the Flames aren't on as restrictive of a budget as St. Louis).
It doesn't sound like Feaster's job is remotely in jeopardy, which makes me concerned since most of his moves have been very disappointing.
Interesting to listen to though.

Just think, just a month ago we could have lost a 1st/3rd round pick (ROR fiasco)......

He was almost in tears by the end, just look frustrated and upset it had come to this and Jarome had to go. He rambled on like only Conroy could. Not as good as his post-Vancouver win interview in 2004 but it's a good one.

Thread after thread deliveries the laughs. For crying out loud, half of you guys sound like love sick teenagers crying over some junior high school crush.
"Iggy still loves us, I can tell." LOL
"My favourite hockey player left town, I can't go on. Sob!" LOL
