I don't have season tickets, but I'd be inclined to go to more games (I usually attend 2-3 games per year) if the Flames went into rebuild/youth movement mode.
Obviously it's my top preference to go to games when the team is winning and is a legitimate contender. If they can't do that, then I'd enjoy the chance to see some young players develop so I can be optimistic for the future of the franchise. What we've had for the past several years has been the worst possible scenario: an underachieving, losing team filled with aging veterans.

It's funny that the same people who complain and can't stand such and such a player and complain about this or that player not being NHL caliber are pretending to be excited watching even more non-NHL caliber players play.
I try and make it to a game whenever I travel to Calgary and try and work my schedule around games. I do not see a need to do that for the foreseeable future.

I dont have season tickets but I'm very excited to see how the Flames forge ahead with a new identity. It'll be exciting to see who steps up and becomes a leader, who starts willing this team to success.
I just hope its an expedited rebuild. As much as we're all excited for change, 4-5 years of young, inexperienced, losing teams would be tough to watch. A couple years with some definite signs of trending upwards is what I want to see.

Like the idea of a young team busting ass every game. Like the game Bob Hartley coaches. Really like the realignment and the new schedule.
I was on the bubble during the lockout but I am firmly back to keeping my tickets.

Personally if I had season tickets, I would hazard that i would not keep them. Mostly because if i want to watch a bunch of "kids" I'd watch the Hitmen.

If this rebuild is to be left in the hands of Feaster I suspect I probably would. His inability to assess talent and negotiate trades leads me to believe we are in for the kind of rebuild that lasts a long time and doesn't ever pan out.
Every move he makes seems to have some sort of "WTF" tag attached, and that is not something I would put my faith in to the tune of thousands of dollars a year. Now, if we're talking a rebuild spearheaded by someone like Burke who has a history of rebuilding successful teams from nothing, then we can talk.

What about the last three years has been watchable outside of that five game stretch when Sven was recalled and we remembered that we were human beings who enjoyed watching hockey?

Not a chance in hell do we give up our seats. This is still my team even though my favourite player of all time is now wearing a new jersey. The time to come may/will be difficult, but we will survive and we will move on.

Up to you I guess, but to me if that is the sole reason you cancel them then you are a part time fan.

At least they were trying to get into the playoffs. I guess I am really worried about tossing out some kids with no expectations on them except to "Have Fun" (like Edmonton).

I have yet to go to a game this year. I have tickets to the last game of the year. Most years I go to about 10 games
Trading Iggy was tough but it had to be done. The next 17 games will be tough as well, not sure who we have right now that is overly exciting to watch. But the new face of the franchise could be here next year. Just need some losses down the stretch. Really hope Baertschi gets the call soon too
The next week will be very exciting too. Who we move and who we get more so than the games though

They said they were trying; in reality, everything about their play in critical situations told you that they were never going to get in.

I will not stop supporting the Flames because of this trade.
Step back people. The bridges are not near high enough.

I was in a similar position to Cowperson. My parents and myself were sharing ST's and decided in the 2000's to attend less games. We always had a group of people who bought the tickets off us. When we decided we weren't going anymore we could still sell off the seasons to people we knew. Then came the time when nobody wanted them and the Dome was always half empty, so we gave up the rights.
Today I live in a small town and haven't attended a game in over 4 years. Like most fans I was not happy with the direction management was taking and felt it wasn't worth the price of a ticket to attend a game live. With the trading of Iginla and the rebuild that seems to be coming, i'm quite excited to see what the future holds for this team. If I were a STH I would probably keep them.

I am not a season ticketholder but I do enjoy going to the games. So far I have been to 3 this season, 1 of which I paid for and 2 of which came through good friends hooking me up. I would have tried to go to more but the compressed schedule made it tough to coordinate with work and my new daughter.
Even though Iggy is gone and the flames are in rebuild mode I would still attend next year. I am a fan of Flames first, but a fan of good hockey as well so I don't mind going to watch the Flames as well as seeing other teams and players in the league.
If there are season ticketholders who are interested in selling off portions of their tickets for next season feel free to PM me. If the price is right I would be willing to take them off your hands.

Same. I know I am in one of the sections likely to get squeezed out of the new facility, but I am pragmatic about that. Until that time though, I expect to enjoy being a season ticket holder, win or lose.

I would at this moment say ya i'm noy paying to watch a stripped down team filled with AHL players in which we have very little depth in the Heat to bring up because they are rightfully due. They will be brought up out of neccessity only. I do not want to retain my season tickets but that would be a hasty decision.
But my Wife and I had an agreement and we remained the same each season if we both enjoy going to the games we keep them. The cost, time dedication or whatever factor if we both are not on board we don't resign.
As it stands with my Wife because of Iggy this is probably the end for us.
I guess i will know when i know lol

If the rebuild of the young Flames prospects is just as exciting as watching some of the Oilers prospects, I wouldn't mind getting myself some season tickets.

Yea it sounds good in theory, but if the Flames go true scorched earth their hockey games will be hard to watch.
Game after game getting #### pumped in every aspect by the opposition. There won't be exciting hockey. It'll be like watching someone kicking a puppy for 2.5 hours.
As an Oilers season ticket holder I can tell you the youth novelty wears thin by November, and the rest of the season is like getting an ice pick in the eye.

What section do you fear will be squeezed out? You mean a price point? Which one? Why?
