I was acutally tuning in to listen to what Bouwmeester has to say but I am not sure if I missed it or not.

Flames management DOES deserve criticism because they're doing this later than they should've. The moves (actual and potential) beforehand were stupid. It's completely justified.
In regards to JayBo, I would be happy with a first and a strong top 6 potential forward prospect/top 4 potential D prospect at minimum. This is the trade that has to help the flames in the long term the quickest.

Certainly by the time you are 18, a player knows for sure the route they are going and the team drafting them definitely knows as well.

Yes I understand that. I'm just saying that Weisbrod doesn't just focus exclusively on college. He specifically noted that he looked at Culkin and Gordon and also was super high on Seiloff who had decided to go to the CHL already.
I think he's just spending more time scouting areas that were neglected before but still also looking at the CHL.

Regarding Iginla true... but regarding Bouwmeester they are doing it at the exact right time.

Can't say I disagree, but Kerr is right in that even when the odd time this organization does get something right, you'd never know it based on the media.

The Bouwmeester situation is very different from Iginla's.
* The Flames have the leverage here - we have no particular need to move Bouwmeester out right now, but several of the potential trade partners desperately need a player like him. Detroit and St. Louis need a minute-eating defenceman much more than Pittsburgh, Boston, or LA needed a scoring winger.
* I doubt Bouwmeester will be as particular about where he wants to go. He could happily play in St. Louis, Detroit, etc. The NTC won't be as restrictive.
* Bouwmeester doesn't have the huge sentimental association of Iginla. Whatever happens it will be a pure hockey deal, with the Flames dealing from a position of strength.
* With one year on his contract, Bouwmeester isn't a rental. He has enough potential to return to all-store form, so he could prove a long-term solution for the teams interested in him. If not, they're only on the hook for one more season. He's a flexible asset.
So from a pure hockey POV, I'm more excited about a potential Bouwmeester deal than the Iginla deal.

I don't think he was really defending the Flames all in all, pretty much said they had this coming, but his rage was directed at the thought of the Flames being an irrelevance in the league through the media and through the fans even.

Fans are justified in criticizing the strategy of Flames management over the last 3-4 seasons. However, they're not justified in criticizing the actions of management last night.

Who criticizing about the trade itself last night? If it's about that, then they're clueless. But if the criticism is about finally doing what the rest of the world saw years ago, and it penalized their return for the trade, then it's fair.

If that's the case, completely justified once again. Maybe when they can make it past the first round of the playoffs for the 2nd time since 89', they'll gain respect again.

Thing is, they didn't get it right. Iginla should have been traded years ago, so they are right to criticize again. This team's reputation is well established and appropriately so.

Wouldn't matter what year he is traded when he has a NTC or some kind of variation, which puts the Flames at a weaker position.

I'm going to guess Bouwmeester returns a couple of random players the Flames organization apparently like (aka Byron/NCAA players) and a late 1st.

I'd have been happier if they had traded him 3 months ago.

Who's to say management didn't approach Iginla last year? Or the year before? to discuss a trade to get max value?
If Iginla wasn't willing to be moved until this year at this time, then how is management to blame for not doing it sooner?
And if they didn't approach him, well, that's another story then.

The earlier you try to move a NTC the easier it is(not that its ever easy) it does three things, it gives the player more value, it means you can tell the guy trying to put you over a barrel to pound salt and, in the case of Luongo, it has massively increased the number of teams he'll consider.

Hopefully I'm not setting myself up for disappointment, but:
San Jose - (C) Tomas Hertl, 2013 1st
Detroit - (C) Calle Jarnkrok, 2013 1st
St.Louis - (LW) Jaden Schwartz, 2013 1st

Rattie is pretty underwhelming to watch considering the amount of hype he gets. Don't understand all the love.

This is what I expect but then anytime we expect, something way out of left field happens when this team trades.
