On my way home from hockey last night The Fan said that he would be heading to Pittsburgh right after the presser today, so I'm thinking the chances are a little slim with travel time.

I hope so, but given the time difference and game time (5pm MST), I don't see it.

It's like a 5 hour flight to Pittsburgh alone.

I don't know if this has been said, but:

Unless they have a private jet standing by. Who knows...

That, IMO is a reason why I want to see Feaster AND the rest of Flames' management hang.

It was obvious this was a horrible team, and the Flames sat on it, and now will be full scorched earth since they will not be getting value for their assets.

This Management team (King included) should be proud, they have completed what looked to be the impossible - they have become a bigger joke than the K-Lown show in Edmonton.

Way to go King & Feaster, you cowardly morons.
Haha. Full building man is all I gotta say. Also you probably don't remember Bremner as President of the Flames.

Article from the Pens page talking about Shero's side of the deal..

Quote:
“The first-round pick was very important to them,” Shero said. “They ended up with two good college prospects. That’s the price of Jarome Iginla. That’s what you have to do. That’s what we did.”

Somebody at the game next to me last night figured Iginla would just take his private jet!

I know hockey players are paid well but not quite enough for their own jet.

For the past few years he has always avoided locker room clean outs as it's too emotional.

Dean asked Peter if he would be going to see Jarome clear out his locker and he said yes, and then his voice trailed off as he tried to add a few more words. The guys jumped in to save him and change the subject.

Also it DOES matter where the Pens finish, the pick gets worse the farther they go in the playoffs. It has changed.

Some thoughts from me the morning after
- Sounds like Iginla may have been the one to pick the Pitt deal not the Flames
- This is a bullet in the chamber deal. The Flames lack assets across the entire organization. They get 3 some good pieces back in this deal. How many work out remains to be seen of course. The first is the most important asset.
- Lots of talk about the two kids not being amongst the Pens’ top 10 prospects. Even if true, they probably rank in the five-ish area for Calgary. Friedman had a good point as well that once you move past the elite prospects, it is really hard to rank everyone else.
- I don’t know much about the two kids, but as noted last night, both are known for high hockey IQ – which is what Weisbrod seems to focus on
- The Flames seem to have done a good job with the college kids they have drafted – so hopefully they have good reads on these guys

I’m thrilled the organization is moving on. The return is not great, but expected, and the price they pay for not having the sack to do it sooner.

Hearing Pete break up on the Fan this morning, probably was the first time the emotional part of this hit home for me.

I think having multiple picks in the top 30 will be important for this organization going forward - that was the big thing for me. Get a 1st round draft pick, and whatever else comes doesn't matter to me.

I'm happy the organization is finally turning the page.

Many of you demanded the team begin to rebuild...well, the rebuild is upon us. Let's see who has the patience to stick it out. It'll be a process.

Did Feaster say in the press conference yesterday that the Flames aren't done wheeling and dealing for the deadline?
