The View From Pittsburgh
From LETSGOPENS (the most legit Pens board I could find)
In summary they seem ecstatic and astounded at the low low price.

Agreed. I feel jealous. The Pens are a great team and have been for years. They just got our best and my all time favorite player. This wasn't supposed to happen.

They should be happy - the return was pretty much garbage. Not only was the return bad, but the Flames managed to annoy Boston and now probably look like a bad potential trading partner to other teams.
I'd love to know how this all got screwed up so badly.

Good job. Probably one of the reasons you won those tickets before! I think you spoke for me in there too. I'm glad he's on a great team and I wish them the best. I know the Flames dont' have a chance and I do want Iggy to win so since the Flames can't, I'm pulling for the Pens.

It didn't get screwed up so badly.
Iggy got to pick the deal we ended up with, and he wanted the Pens over Boston. So either you move him to the Pens for whatever they offered, or you lose him in the offseason for nothing.
It's starting to bug me how little some people understand the process of this trade.

The most exciting part about this is watching crosby and iggy play together again. I hope they light the world on fire and it fuels the chemistry for them for the 2014 olympics, and they bring home another gold!

I think I would have preferred Joe Morrow straight up, but I think the truth will come out that Iggy would only waive for Pitts. We shall see. I have to say I am not expecting any of these assets to combine for more than 100 games played

If that's the case and it comes out though, Boston, LA and Chicago are going to feel deceived. And the Flames are going to have an even harder time making deals. I think Boston feels they were screwed over in this process - either by Iginla, the Flames, or both.

Yeah, Feaster is done I think. Also, Iggy could have had a change of heart after Pitts loaded up.

Why is Feaster done? He was bent over a barrel and was at the mercy of where Iginla wanted to go, and was not negotiating from a position of power.
The only way Feaster could have screwed up is if he didn't say to the Pens "We want XXXX, XXXX, and a first round pick". I bet you the names he gave the Pens were not the prospects we ended up with, but that is the reality of the situation we were in...Take what they were willing to pay, or lose Iggy for nothing after this year.

Not necessarily because of performance, which has been mediocre. I think he has said he is not the GM for a rebuild. I agree

Penguins fans should be happy as they got the one and only Jarome Igina for essentially the same price the Predators paid last year for Paul Gaustad at the deadline in a 1st round pick. Agostino and Hanowski will likely be AHL roster filler with the possibility of the occasional call up to the big team. They should be ecstatic and good for them and good for Iginla. It's going to make my spring all that more exciting cheering him on to win that elusive cup.

I think its the other way around, cause Boston deal wasn't that much better. I bet other GMs are lining up to deal with Feaster.
